A fine celadon large dish, decorated with incised lotus to the center and fluted sides on cavetto wall, outside is plain. Covered overall with olive green glaze in very good condition, only found a chip to foot rim (visible on the last enlargement) and glaze hairline to the outside cavetto but not crossing to the front side, otherwise is excellent with porcelain body. Late Song to Yuan Longquan ware found in Sulawesi. Diameter: 34cm.

This sculpturally beautiful design is signed with Spratling's earliest hallmarks dating the piece to c. 1933-38.
