An early piece by Los Castillo, c 1940. A huge sterling pin of a flying fish with a center blue glass stone. A bracelet with this same fish pattern is featured on page 80 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Morrill and Berk. Magnificent detail and a feeling that the fish is in motion. This piece measures 3 1/2" by 2" and is in fine original condition. It weighs 35 grams. Signed and numbered for Los Castillo. Bold and strong.

An extraordinary amethyst and silver bracelet by Fred Davis, c 193. The weight and mass of the large rectangular amethyst stones is complimented by the open design of the silver links. I believe this bracelet to be quite rare. It measures 7 3/4" end to end and is 1 1/4" wide. It weighs 88 grams. It is in fine original condition with only a tiny line and ding to the edge of one of the silver rounds. It in no way detracts from the piece. I mention it only for total accuracy...

One of the most beautiful early pieces by Matilde Poulat that I have yet found. This c.1950's sterling, turquoise and amethyst bracelet is exceptional in every way. All of the stones are intact and look to be original. The amethysts are vivid purple and all stones are free of damage. The bracelet measures 8" end to end and is 1 3/4" wide. It weighs 72 grams and the push in clasp snaps tightly shut. Signed and numbered for Matilde Poulat "MATL" as shown. This piece is a treasure.

A beautiful and unique ring by Carmen Beckmann composed of 5 silver bands with a scroll design alternating with stones of turquoise and amethyst quartz. The depth of color of the amethysts vary from dark to light and one of the light stones has a tiny nick on the surface that looks much bigger in the photos due to the extreme magnification. A terrific abstract mid-century modern sterling bracelet by Taxco silversmith Sigi Pineda. It is hinged in the back and pulls open in the front at the horizontal lines, most ingenious! The bezel set aventurine stone is a nice touch. These are the kind of designs for which Sigi is most celebrated. Large, exquisite silver and amethyst brooch by Fred W. Davis, c. 1930. Davis combined amethyst quartz and silver in many of his pieces.
