Here is an elegant sterling silver fancy-link chain which comes from the era of the Titanic, but could be as late as the Art Deco period (Downton Abbey! The Great Gatsby!). It is interesting enough to be worn on its own, or you could hang a pendant or watch from it. The clasp is stamped “Sterling”. It measures 26”, and the links are 1/4” or 4mm wide at the widest point. It weighs 5.6g, and is in excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully...

Abraham Paz was known for bringing to life the designs of Fred Davis. Many of Davis's designs are signed by Abraham Paz. The stone is large and I believe it is obsidian without a sheen. You can put light to the back of the undamaged stone and see that it is most probably Obisidian. The length is 15in. That may seem short but it is built like a pectoral that perks up at the hollow of the neck and sits comfortably tipped outward...

A very nice and unusual pair of cuff links in sterling by William Spratling. They are suitable for a man or woman and measure 3/4" by 3/4". Fine original condition and both cuff links are signed as shown.

Bold and beautiful sterling and black onyx bracelet by Los Ballesteros. I believe this is originally an Antonio Pineda design. These are V shaped links with onyx inset into the sides. Each link is hinged and moves. It is in fine original condition, no chips or cracks to the stones. It measures 8 1/4" end to end and is 1 1/2" wide. It weighs 140 grams and is signed for Los Ballesteros as shown in the photo. A fabulous looking piece.

This brilliant vintage squash blossom necklace is anecdotally from the 1950s but stylistically typical of the 1970s (the leaves surrounding the turquoise cabochons were popular at that period.) It is sterling silver and turquoise but unmarked. The 1/4” sterling beads are bench-made. The necklace is 27” in length, with a naja that measures 2 5/8 in width by 3 inches in length. The necklace is set with 17 turquoises...

Composed of 27 medallion drops, this impressive, late 19th-century bracelet is a stunning example of New York silversmith George W. Shiebler's Etruscan line. Each medallion bears a classical profile; there are eight different profiles repeated. The medallions are well cast with fine detail, enhanced by oxidation, with only very minor wear...

This sculpturally beautiful design is signed with Spratling's earliest hallmarks dating the piece to c. 1933-38. Each hand forged link is made of solid sterling silver giving the piece a hefty, yet wearable weight of 170 grams. The necklace is 15 3/4" long X 7/8 of an inch wide. Excellent condition with a gorgeously aged patina. The design is pictured on Phyllis Goddard's spratlingsilver.com.

I don’t usually venture into the 1980s with vintage Mexican silver jewelry but Erika Hult de Corral is one of the few instances in which the general rule is broken. A Paris-educated, talented modernist with a distinct brutalist strain in her designs, Ric (as she signs her pieces) worked with Sigi Pineda and Enrique Ledesma before she opened her own workshop...

A fabulous, big and bold sterling bracelet by Danish firm A. Michelsen. The texture resembles a tree bark and there is a slight gold wash over the sterling. This is a heavy piece weighing 126 grams. This is a smashing sterling and wire wrapped glass ball pendant and chain by Modernist Paul Lobel. It is three dimensional and interesting from every angle. A great size, measuring 2 1/2" including the bail, it is on its' original chain 18" also made by Paul Lobel. It is in fine original condition and both the pendant and the chain clasp are signed LOBEL STERLING. One of the nicest Lobel pieces I have seen.

This is the type of Mexican Silver Renaissance necklace that you hope you will find at some point in your collection. Valentin Vidaurreta was a premier designer starting in 1931 designing for Frederick Davis and had a workshop in Mexico City. Here with this necklace you see an eagle 9 which was only given to Hector Aguilar. Vidaurreta had most of his work hand made by Aguilar when he moved to Taxco. William Spratling felt so highly of Valentin he designed work for him as well...

Margot von Voorheis Carr designed this pre-Columbian double swirl and her taller Margot de Taxco created this absolute to die for necklace. It is so beautiful it was chosen as the COVER DESIGN for the book WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE by Penney C. Morrill. Definitely a favorite of mine being 1 14/16th wide (for all intent and purpose you can call it 2 inches wide) and 20in. long. The actual wearable size due to its width is a comfortable 17in...
