This rare and attractive pottery model of a horse & rider was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in a base coat of a creamy-white pigment on top of which are yellow and black pigments. This tall pottery figure was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It represents a male servant or attendant. It is "heavily-potted" and made from a grey pottery that has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments, much of which still remain...

A nicely carved mythical beast or cute animal in the recumbent position. There is a hole through the mouth for hanging. As for the age, I will date it as a Song piece, but it could also be from the Southern & Northern Dynasties. It is hard to date jade as many Dynasties copied from past dynasties. Size: L. 5cm. W. 2cm. H. 2cm. Condition: No chips or repairs.

Chinese late Qing dynasty (19th century) front-opening Han style lady's jacket embroidered on the front and back in silk polychrome thread with clusters of flowering plants and butterflies on a dark cobalt blue silk satin ground. Much of the embroidery is executed with the “forbidden stitch.” The sleeve bands are similarly embroidered with flowers and Buddhist swastikas on a white silk ground. Three round floral metal buttons secure the front opening and silk closures secure the neck...

Fine Chinese Song Dynasty Qingbai Glazed Porcelain Bowl

This fine porcelain bowl was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). The inner surface is decorated with an incised scrolling stylised floral pattern. There are five "V"-shaped notches spread equidistant around the rim. Its best feature, however, is its translucent pale blue qingbai glaze of such good colour, the glaze also being attractively crackled...
