A beautiful Chinese Cloisonne Tea pot of very large size featuring gilt bronze handle and top with exquisite foo dog images in cloisonne design. In excellent condition measuring approx. 13 tall and 16 inches at its widest point.

A blue & white dish, decorated with the scene of Great wall, rock, pagoda, five small merchant ships and a large junk ready to sail to South East Asia, cranes among lotus scrolls to cavetto rim. Ming dynasty 16th century Jiajing-Wanli period found on South Sulawesi. Condition with a tiny chip, one firing crack and three short hairline. Diameter: 26.5cm.

A rare found of Longquan celadon small dish, decorated to interior with unusual single fish, exterior with fluted sides. Southern Song dynasty Zhejiang Longquan ware. Condition is perfect, with no chip, no crack and free from restoration, except firing fault to be unglazed to outer rim. Diameter: 13cm.

A very unusual group of tomb figures, depicting three boys holding an zodiac sign. Painted and glazed pottery, the heads detachable. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). H. 25 cm. Condition: only one figure has a minor chip to the neck. No other damages or repairs, very nice old burial condition. Comes with a TL report from Ralf Kotalla in Germany.

Japanese woodblock print triptych of swimming turtles and fish with actor mons and human faces by Yoshu Chikanobu (1838-1912) dated 5th month of Meiji 19 (1886). The convention of disguising portraits of actors arose in the Edo period when bust portraits of actors were banned, through the Tempo Reforms of 1841-1843, for being conspicuous and a detriment to public morality. An aquatint in colors by the famous Chinese artist Zao Wou-ki (Zao Wuji). He was born in Beijing 1921 and worked in Paris. Signed, dated '59 and numbered 32/95 in pencil. Condition: trimmed (die stamp of l'Oeuvre gravée only last 3 letters), slightly soiled and creased, reverse with annotations in pencil and traces of former mounting, one pinhole in image. Dimension: image: 39.6 cm x 44.5 cm, paper: 49.9 cm x 58.6 cm.

Description:

A Lusan stem cup was in lovely size.
It was well preserved by reflecting the retrospective sheen of old condition.
Blue and white splashes were suffused against the dark brownish glaze background on the surface.
Loosening-feel body clay was revealed at the lower portion in beige tint.

Being decorated on the surface and in the cavetto with carved motifs, the stem cup was well mold in decent shape.
Somehow tilted due to manual pottering, which was not unusual as we may expect from an old production

A colorful back buzi with a bear for a man, denoting the fifth military rank. Silk tapestry (kossu, k'o-suu) with metallic threads and painted details, the background covered by peacock feathers, which rarely survived to the present days. Blue silk lining. Reference: Ladder to the Clouds, Jackson & Hugus Berkeley 1999, page 197 - No. 13.018 very similar badge. Condition: fine, minimal traces of wear. Dimensions: 29 cm high x 31.6 cm wide.

Description:

A Yaozhou bird feeder was well glazed in yellowish-green tint.
Overly glazed on the surface except the bottom where the grayish-white body clay was revealed, the small vessel was in slender shape and was segregated in eight sections on the surface.
It was preserved in perfect condition when greasy-feel glaze sheen was reflected charmingly.

Date: Jin Dynasty, 11th/12th century.

Stunning ornate silver filigree necklace, 5 matching medallions each measures 1 x 1.5 inches point to point. Each medallion has a large cabochon stone gem stones of soft gray green color. Chain links are long filigree flowers. Made for export, country of origin unknown, possibly Russian, Chinese, India....Marked BAK 925 measures 17 inches long.

A middle Ming b/w dish, decorated at interior with Rabbit among fungus and flower pattern within double circle, cavetto is plain and the everted rim surrounded by flower scrolls, Fu mark on base. Ming dynasty 16th century Jiajing period. Condition is good near perfect, only found a kiln chip, a flake glaze to rim and minor chip to foot rim, otherwise no crack and free from restoration. Diameter: 19.2cm.

A good blue & white dish, decorated to interior with a lion playing balls within double circle and encircled by waves pattern to rim. Underside with flower scrolls. Ming dynasty early 16th century Hongzhi-Zhengde period. Overall very good condition, minor chips to foot rim, no crack and free from any restoration. Diameter: 20cm.

Small Yuhuchun Vase, decorated with floral on the body and plantain leaves on the neck. Glazed base. Description:

A black-glazed temmoko tea bowl was produced from famous Jianyang kiln, Fujiang province.
Well mold in decent Wan shape, the bowl was stand on a finely defined foot ring which revealed with the body clay that in grayish black tint.
While the body clay was in obvous old look and being caused with frets and incursions. the bowl was also being verified by the obvious characteristics of :
1, The dry-feel condition happened to the mouth rim...

A massive evocative painting exhibited at the first Bunten National Exhibition in 1908 by Ito Koun enclosed in a large period wooden box and pblished in the Nitten-shi series volume I. It is performed with pigment on silk, and shows that soft, almost mystical touch typical of late Meiji Rekishi-ga historical imagery. A nice drawing b/w dish, decorated with Shansui scene pattern. Japanese 18th/19th century. Base with six character mark 'Da Ming Cheng Hua Nien Zhe' and four spurs mark. Condition with glaze hairline appears to base. Diameter: 24cm.

Chinese Qing dynasty Daoguang period (1821-1850) geyao type porcelain censer of compressed bombe form with thick flat rim and two animal-mask handles at the sides. The pale gray glaze, covered overall with the characteristic black and brown crackles, completely covers the interior of the censer and the exterior of the ringed foot and extends part way down the interior foot of the recessed unglazed base. Measures 5” diameter from handle to handle and stands 2 ½” high...

A very rare Chinese Nanmu scholar's table chest. Nanmu wood has been used in China since the Han dynasty and is very prized by collectors as it is difficult to find. I feel that it is rarer than huanghuali. I have only come across one Nanmu scholar's chest in all the years that I have been collecting. Size: L.34cm. W.17cm. H.6cm. Age: Mid Qing or earlier.
