Very attractive vase of Meiping form with broad mouth above scrolls enamel motif, standing on the small foot rim with lotus petals in underglazed blue, decorated on the shoulder with fine relief of the 'Dehua' dragons among 'Jindezhen' enamel key-fret pattern, beautifully collaboration between both kilns to this vase. Condition is perfect, 18th century Yongzhen-Qianlong period. High: 22.5cm.

An very well carved erotic jade of two lovers with a floral patterned robe partially covering their bodies. The jade is translucent and of an even white color. Standing well balance in three legs, globular body slight similar to the 'zhadou' form and covered overall at the exterior with blue ground sapphire glaze and inside with white greenish 'duck egg' tint. A blue & white Kraak type dish, thinly potted with fluted sides rim, the center decorated with a landscape featuring two goose, the cavetto sides with floral spray. Ming dynasty late 16th century. Condition: two hairlines and a flake chip (restored), before restoration indicated on enlargement 7-10. Diameter: 20.3cm.

Description: A scholar bronze water basin was in lovely pumpkin shape. Covered with typical old patina on the surface and left pigment between the lobes, the item was kept in very good condition except some minor dents which was not unusual to an old piece. One later made dip was accompanied with this piece as a perfect match. Date: 18th/19th Century. Width: 5.3cm, Weight: 51gram.

The fish is symbolically employed as the emblem of wealth or abundance on account of the similarity in the pronunciation of the words "yu", fish, and "yu", superfluity. I date this piece to be early Han. Size: L.5.5cm. W.2cm. Condition: No repairs ,chips or cracks.

A demure image of grace and youth; this is a fine full sized Bunraku theater puppet dating from the first half of the 20th century; one of two from a private collection we are currently offering. The eyes open and close, but are stiff, hands are flexible and fully operational. She wears a period red brocade kimono with kiku chrysanthemum patterns and a black obi featuring dragons and phoenix. A white silk lining and silver crown of flowers complete her outfit...

This old Japanese hook would have been suspended over the hearth and used to hang cooking pots over the fire. Obviously carved by the original owner/user, this pothook or jizai kagi is heavily grooved from many years of use. The attached rope is probably a replacement to the original rope. It has been knotted into place for some years and I decided not to attempt to remove it.

Description: A natural root wood stand was shaped in a stylized form. Rich in darkened brownish tone, the gnarled stand was kept in original condition without any defects. A small piece maybe but was really rare when the old characteristics were obvious-especially to a wood stand. Date: 19th century, Height: 9.5cm

By a fine carving skill depicting the holy deity from the robe’s simple and flouring lines, the benign facial expression and the easy sitting posture, we can be sure that the piece was from the deft hands of a devoted and well-trained craftsman. An original and well fitted throne was surrounded by two sections of lotus petals, upwards and downwards the petals were carved vividly with beautiful curves...

Description: A charming jade piece was carved in a floral shape. By a greasy feel and nice effects from old dyeing work, the small jade was used to be a decorative piece on the cloth. For over 1000 years the Chinese have used Bamboo Shoots for the art of divination, forecasting the future. The shoot are tossed on a table or to the ground. The landing position of the shoots is the determining factor. This pair of divination shoots is over 200 years old.

The main portion on the outer surface was casted with two types of Chinese archaic words Sou (Long Life)in open work and surrounding the ring when chased dots were decorated. On the upper and lower portions, two bands of key-fret patterns were carved neatly for framing the words...

Description: A bronze paper weight was joyfully in a subject that most welcomed by Chinese people. "Si Xi" Four Joys- Fu (wellbeing), Lu (prosperity), So (longevity), Si (joys) were symbolized by four laughing boys. Intriguingly designed by traditional craftsman, only two boys instead of four were in the combination. A kind of delusion would add some fun for the literati in their boring study room. Actually the puzzler can be a fine stationery which was in the practical use...

Description: A pair of jade plates were in transparent light green tint. By a shallow and flat foot ring, the plates were decently decorated on the surface with gilding motifs of leafy flowers, fruits, bamboos and pine trees. Carved in a light way, the vibrant plants were finely rendered before gold pigment was filled in to enlighten the whole picture against the celadon jade ground. A superb design of the picture can be noticed by the sophisticated composition...

Description: A fine jade pendant was carved in a shape of a gourd enwind with vines, leaves, stalks and plums. By the excellent quality of a Hou-Tien jade which was in slight greenish tint and had a lovely transparent look, the pebble was maneuvered skillfully depicting the full gourd with twisted leaves, tendrils, blossoming flowers and the strong stems. A detailed work of a jade piece with such a fine quality was so sweet to hold on...

A chinese 19thc Ge type porcelain jar with lid , with underglaze blue landscape paintings on the front with bird and flower, section by dark iron glaze on the shoulder, lid and near the foot. Marked with"Cheng hua" but later period.Height = 24cm Width=21 cm. Condition very good with a small chip inside of the lid (see enlargement 9).

A lurid landscape spreads across two two-panel screens by Shirakura Niho signed and dated 1929. Two colorful scholars share a quiet moment in the shelter of a thatched hut. On first examination it appears nonsensical, a chaotic collection of dashes and dots, however the closer one examines the painting the more one realizes the detail and planning that went into the imagery, It is performed with ink on paper framed in dark mulberry frame and has been recently re-backed with forest green paper...

Ewer or poring vessel with straight wallet neck and a wide foot which has a cut footrim and recessed base.The handle is flat and double grooved. The sides are decorated with lightly curved criss-cross paterns. Glaze greyish white. Found at Borneo. Height=15 cm. Period : Song Dynasty 12th-13th. Condition : chip on rim and spout. Description: A stylized brushrest was displayed in a strong form. Carved in a unique shape from one solid block of Zitan wood, the wooden scholar piece was depicted in the front by an open work as scholar rock's shape. On the back, simple flouring lines were carved to render the rock's profile.In an unusual size, the wooden scholar rock was adherent firmly to the stand which was also made of Zitan wood...

The fine one of famille verte baluster vase so-called Yen-Yen in China slightly with thickly potted, decorated to the body with 'Shou Lao', peach, two children attendant and a crane below cloud scroll. Condition is perfect. Qing dynasty 18th century, presume as Yongzhen-Qianlong period. High: 21.8cm, Mouth rim: 11cm.

A fine drawing of b/w dish, decorated with a winged dragon to the center among clouds scroll within double circle, fruit and butterflies to the wall cavetto. The exterior with five flower medallions and four character mark of 'Jang Ming Fu Kuei' in coin shape to base. Condition restored a small missing piece to rim and cover a hairline, no problem further. Middle Ming 16th century Jiajing-Wanli period. Diameter: 19cm.

In fine and pure Hou-Tien quality, the beautiful jade piece was reflected with slight celadon tint and was carved excellently in bas-relief in depicting the details. From the characteristics of the jade quality, the carving style, the fine finishing work, and the decent form of the whole piece, it was justified as a piece from early Qing period of 17th-18th century...

Description: A small but well molded bronze censer was in decent elm bowl's shape. Made of fine quality of metal material, the bronze censer was in good weight of 238 gram when in a lovely size of 5.0 cm in width and 3.2cm in height. Hollowed inside with good curve as the outside, the bronze bowl which in a plain form was an ideal censer to either hold in hands feeling the warmth, sniffing the aroma of the fine burning incense or just being as a paper weight fondling in your palms.
