A waterdropper (suiteki) is filled with water and used to drip water onto a stone when grinding ink. This Suiteki has a wingspan of roughly 9.5 cm (just less than 4 inches). Norakuro is a black and white dog enlisted as a private in the “Mokenrentai” (Fierce Dog Brigade), an Imperial army of white dogs fighting in a war against the Monkey Army...

Japanese shin hanga woodblock print by Ito Yuhan (1882-1951) titled "Fuji from Taganoura" published by Nishinomiya Yosaku in the 1930's. Signed at the lower right corner of the image. Paper: 16 1/8" x 10 5/8" (image: 14 1/2" x 9 3/4"). The painterly effect in Ito Yuhan's woodblock prints are achieved through the elimination of black key block lines. Very good overall condition. This print was never framed and has excellent color and full margins...

Scratches of ink form a precipitous landscape of jagged mountains on the paper surface of this scroll performed by Fujii Tatsukichi enclosed in a wooden box titled: Painted by the elder Tatsu, One Scroll, Mountain, Annotated by Eichi. It is framed in a silk border terminating in black lacquered rollers. It is 13-1/2 x 59 inches (34 x 149 cm) and is in excellent condition.

This beautiful Qianjiang painting of two yellow birds amid branches of pine, interspersed with flowers is a must have for any serious collector of Qiangjiang painting. The Qiangjiang artist were employed at the imperial factories and were often experts of paintings and calligraphy. This vase has a poem and is signed by the artist, the vase dates to the early Republic era C. 1916 and is without damage, and with little wear to the details. It measures 9 inches tall. Chinese Qing dynasty Qianlong period geyao type shallow bowl covered overall with a fine crackle glaze on a creamy white ground. The high foot rim is glazed on the exterior. The recessed base is glazed and the glaze extends part way up the inner side of the inward slanting foot where it ends with an orange burn line. There are seven brown glazed spots on the base that simulate Song kiln supports. 10 3/8” diameter x 2 1/4” high. 18th century...

Chinese Ming dynasty bronze standing acolyte on wood stand naturalistically pierced and carved to resemble a rocky outcropping. The left hand holds an object and the right hand gestures with two fingers pointing to the ground. The figure wears a gown and a headdress with long billowing ribbon scarves. Metal prongs secure the figure into the stand which appears to be original. 6 5/8" high on the stand. Excluding the metal prongs, the figure is slightly over 5" high. Circa 16th century...
