Chinese Northern Wei Dynasty Pottery Horse with Female Rider
This attractive model of a horse and rider was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is made from a grey pottery that has been cold painted in a creamy-white pigment on top of which have been applied other coloured pigments. Note the detail of the female rider's facial features and hairstyle.

A black-glazed tea bowl was in a unique form.
Apparently caused by firing effects, the surface of the glaze was transformed to a mysterious image that was charming and different.
It was not sure if it was intentionally finished by an ingenious potter or just an accidental surprise.
But it was indeed a unique and sought-after piece for real connoisseur.

A fine small blue and white bowl painted with the three friends of winter consisting of the pine, bamboo and prunus rendered in varying tones of blue pigment enclosed by a double line border just below the rim and another at the bottom of the bowl. The interior is decorated with prunus spray.
