A very rare Czech art pottery wall plaque designed by Karl Grossl in 1934 and stamped on the reverse FBS within a circle, Made In Czechoslovakia, and numbered 157-10P. Probably by the Keramia Company. Featured in Wondermasken book. The plaque is fashioned of terracotta and covered in a turquoise glaze. The relief female mask is in black with a colored rose. Size: 10" high x 10.5" wide. This is possibly a prototype as only 10 were made. Excellent condition...

Very pale celadon color jade buckle with 2 dragons. The dragons are beautifully carved with nice detailing. A graceful arch formed by the body of the main dragon curves over the "button." Description: A natural root wood stand was shaped in a stylized form. Rich in darkened brownish tone, the gnarled stand was kept in original condition without any defects. A small piece maybe but was really rare when the old characteristics were obvious-especially to a wood stand. Date: 19th century, Height: 9.5cm

Wonderful Chanel brooch from the 1930's. It is in excellent condition. There are five enamel flowers with leaves (the white one faces sideways), and the center and the perimeter of the bow are studded with clear, sparkling, tiny rhinestones. The metal back is silver color. Chanel in script is on the center back. 3 1/4" wide, 1 3/4" high. Quite chunky.

Fabulous and festive, these Vrba drop earrings are show stoppers! Composed of an amethyst glass stone as the centerpiece, it is surrounded by faux pearls a smoky topaz rhinestones set in gold plated metal. Oval signature plate on the back of each earring marked Lawrence Vrba. They are 3 1/2" top of clip to bottom of dangle. Dangle is 2" wide.

This old Japanese hook would have been suspended over the hearth and used to hang cooking pots over the fire. Obviously carved by the original owner/user, this pothook or jizai kagi is heavily grooved from many years of use. The attached rope is probably a replacement to the original rope. It has been knotted into place for some years and I decided not to attempt to remove it.

A demure image of grace and youth; this is a fine full sized Bunraku theater puppet dating from the first half of the 20th century; one of two from a private collection we are currently offering. The eyes open and close, but are stiff, hands are flexible and fully operational. She wears a period red brocade kimono with kiku chrysanthemum patterns and a black obi featuring dragons and phoenix. A white silk lining and silver crown of flowers complete her outfit...

A nicely carved brown jade fish in the Eastern Zhou style. The fish is symbolically employed as the emblem of wealth or abundance on account of the similarity in the pronunciation of the words "yu", fish, and "yu", superfluity. I date this piece to be early Han. Size: L.5.5cm. W.2cm. Condition: No repairs ,chips or cracks.

This March 10, 1915 patented Black Man Jigger Toy was produced by The National Toy Company of Boston, Massachusetts and was designed to be placed on one's phonograph. When a record was played, the Black Jigger would dance and jiggle!

In fabulous and complete, all-original condition with no repaint, replaced pieces or repairs, this rare piece is impressed on the underside of its wooden and metal dancing platform with patent date and manufacturer (see photos)...

Old English tablespoon by England's most famous female silversmith, Hester Bateman. London. 1780. Original owner's engraved monogram in feathered script, 'JMA.' Very good condition with no repairs. Egg-shaped bowl retains its shape. Bottom marked with some compressing of hallmarks but still very legible. HB maker's mark is quite clear. 8 inch length.

Description: A scholar bronze water basin was in lovely pumpkin shape. Covered with typical old patina on the surface and left pigment between the lobes, the item was kept in very good condition except some minor dents which was not unusual to an old piece. One later made dip was accompanied with this piece as a perfect match. Date: 18th/19th Century. Width: 5.3cm, Weight: 51gram.

A blue & white Kraak type dish, thinly potted with fluted sides rim, the center decorated with a landscape featuring two goose, the cavetto sides with floral spray. Ming dynasty late 16th century. Condition: two hairlines and a flake chip (restored), before restoration indicated on enlargement 7-10. Diameter: 20.3cm.

Standing well balance in three legs, globular body slight similar to the 'zhadou' form and covered overall at the exterior with blue ground sapphire glaze and inside with white greenish 'duck egg' tint. Ming dynasty possibly 16th century in perfect condition. Mouth Diameter: 11.7cm and High: 9.2cm.
