Rare sterling silver spectacles in a green shagreen eye glasses case with silver mounts. Circa 1790-1800. The silver eyeglasses are unmarked, but are probably English, with folding frames. The shagreen (shark skin) case is in excellent condition with unmarked silver mounts and a working push-button catch. Size: 5 1/4" ht. x 2" width x 5/8" depth. Shagreen was made from the skin of the dogfish, a variety of shark, and was filed smooth and then applied like leather over a wooden case...

The turret of a lonely outpost rises from the mountain peak formed by this small Japanese scholar rock set into a hand carved wooden base and enclosed in a wooden box titled Ko jinkaku (Small Armored Tower). The stone is 7 inches (18 cm) tall, 5 x 3 inches (13 x 8 cm). It likely was put together in the early 20th century.

Preserving with fine greasy patina on the surface, the brush-licker was kept in a very good condition except some old abrasions and some original stone defects.
Brush-licker was used for adjusting brush wet when scholars were practicing calligraphy or Chinese brush painting.
In usually-seen flat and simple form, the artistry will always come out of the original beauty of the material itself.

A good looking one of Song dynasty flower shape bowl, decorated with carved of scrolls motif, underside is plain showing teardrops effect and covered overall with creamy white glaze. Song dynasty 11th-12th century, possibly one produced from Hebei Ding type ware, found at Borneo site. Condition is very good, only appear crackled glaze and a firing crack to interior, otherwise is perfect. Diameter: 18.6cm and High: 7cm.

Beautiful and rare mid-century modern bracelet by Salvador Teran, c. 1955. The matching brooch and earrings are featured in both editions of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Morrill and Berk. The bracelet measures 7" around in the inside when closed and is 2" wide at the widest front section. It has a secure push in clasp and original safety chain. All original, fine condition.
