Vintage Margot de Taxco Mexican silver necklace and earrings demi, this is a delicate, discretely feminine design and it's perfect for the hot days of summer. Extensive beading, a touch of oxidation, riveted links and a presence that though romantic is still visually strong characterize the set and make it one of my Margot favorites. The necklace measures 16 1/8" long (wearable) with the bow link being 2" wide by just shy of 7/8" tall (at its tallest) while the width at the chain is 3/16"...

Very three dimensional and heavy. Beautifully made by Vendome in the 1960's.The quality of the stones make them appear to be real gemstones. Trunk to tail 2 1/8", rider's plume to elephant's foot 2 1/8".

Demanding and difficult, onix negro (black onyx) is a technique by which the classic art of stone inlay is reversed; instead of setting stone within a silver frame, it is now silver shapes that are placed in a flat piece of black onyx. Devised by the Los Castillo at the beginning of the 1950s, onix negro was practiced by a few other maestros as well with results that are definitely different and can be quite impressive...

A remarkable sterling and 5 row saw tooth bezel set turquoise bracelet by Carmello "Pat" Patania who was the brother of Frank Patania Sr. It measures 6 3/4" around in the inside plus a 1" opening and is 1 1/4" wide. It weighs 98 grams and is in fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the stones. The stones are actually a deeper blue and green than the camera captures. Signed as shown. This is a gorgeous bracelet.

I am very partial to Margot's enamel work, especially her pieces with warm, earthy colors. The bracelet here is one of my favorite designs - round, concave links enameled in brown, taupe, black and white with silver polka dots showing through in an almost yin and yang motif. Perfect for every season but just ideal for fall and winter! In the next to last photo you can see it with the matching earrings that are also available in my inventory...

A wonderful, textural, sculptural sterling bracelet designed by Knud V. Andersen for Anton Michelsen, Denmark , circa 1960. It measures 8" end to end and is 1 1/4" wide. Weighing an impressive 105 grams, it is in fine original condition and signed as shown. The pin closure is secure and there is also a safety lock. A terrific piece of mid-century Scandinavian jewelry.

The name of Plateria Cortes, a Taxco retail store is often found on jewelry signed by Enrique Ledesma and this is the case with the modernist sterling silver and green stone necklace at hand. This type of curved trapezoid links embellished with inlay is a signature design for the maestro yet here there are two sections of stone in each station which is a welcome variation that does not come up as often as the typical single segment...

This showpiece from Margot de Taxco is supremely rare. I've not seen another. It's a necklace which instantly commands attention.

A great vintage clock by Ferro & Lazzarini (est 1947) of Murano, Italy. Clear glass with gold foil inclusions (Cordonato Oro). Clock is quartz, and a new battery has been recently installed, a new battery will be provided to buyer. Measures 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter and glass is 1 inch (2.54 cm) thick. No chips, cracks or repairs. Bears original label on back, that reads: Glass/Murano/Italy/Ferro & Lazzarini. Circa 1960's.

Stunning Antonio Pineda Mexican modernist silver and black onyx necklace, this too is wrought in the maestro's favorite fine, .970 alloy in a variation of his "crescents" design. There isn't much one can say about Antonio jewelry, at least not more than a few good photos can say, but let me express my admiration for the magical way he articulates his creations so as to sit perfectly where they should and at the same time showcase the design's sculpturality in the best possible light...

Vintage assembled set of Antonio Pineda bracelets in a mod, minimalist design that features deeply carved semi-spheres out of each bangle's perimeter, with the empty areas oxidized to add drama to an otherwise simple form. I am very partial to sets of bangles and this pair wears comfortably with its discrete musicality reminding you of its presence. The bangles have an inner circumference of 8" and their width is 1/4"...

Bold, exquisitely hand crafted turquoise and sterling ribbed bracelet by Navajo silversmith Johnny Mike Begay. Begay worked at the White Hogan Shop in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as privately and won numerous awards for his jewelry which can be found in many private and museum collections. His work was featured in the 2002 exhibit “Jewels of the Southwest” at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This cuff measures 5 3/4" around in the inside plus a 1 1/2" opening...

A carved wooden figure, coloured with red ochre, of a long-nosed male mythological spirit figure. This item was made circa 1940-1970 and originates from the Lower Sepik River area in Papua New Guinea. Condition - very good - there is a split at the back along the line of the spine 9see enlargement no. 8) but no damages or losses. 20cm (8inches) high.

A stunning sterling and jelly opals necklace by San Miguel de Allende, Mexico artist Carmen Beckmann who was active from c.1955. This magnificent piece features 27 colorful,vibrant jelly opals placed intricately between silver balls all framed in graduated sized silver rectangular links. The stone backs are open so the light can reflect the gorgeous colors of the opals. Measuring 16 1/2" long, it is 1/2" wide at the center rectangle...

Tall, organic form sculpture by Luciano Gaspari for Salviati & Co.. The sculpture is formed of three joined irregular disks, with richly varied surface textures and folds. A large clear yellow disk is supported by two light smoke-gray disks (one disk has a slight bluish tinge that the other does not), the whole rising out of a dark smoke-gray block. The glass, being hand worked contains some bubbles, but are not considered flaws and add to the organic nature of the sculpture...

Of reddish wood with fine grain, this Maori Wahaika Patu measures 15 1/4" long and roughly 5 1/8" wide. The top has a figural face or mask carved in reticulated form, with a hole for attachment to the wrist. The club has a hooked section, used to grab the opponent's weapon and remove it...

The primary designer for Rancho Alegre, Miguel Martinez is a maestro whose work I have come to value for its imaginative design, superb quality and extremely careful finishing. Monumental both in terms of its dimensions but also due to its weight, the cuff at hand is heavy, with thick overlay and oxidation that accentuates its architecturality. A true work of art that combines Taxco's early love for pre-Colombian motifs with Martinez's prowess in silver overlay...
