A very rare wood panel, covered with a white ground and decorated with a painting of a bodhisattva. This panel was found in a cave temple in the Dunhuang mountains in the Gansu Province. We acquired a group of six panels from a Dutch collector who bought the panels in China in the 1980's. Dimensions: 46x20 cm. Tang Dynasty (618-906).Wooden objects from this period are quite rare.

Obviously made for the western market, this porcelain pieces was a product of Dehua county, Fujiang province of Qing Dynasty, 19th century.
It was in a perfect condition without any defects.
It was an amusing piece too especially in this holy season.

Arrow vase of rectangular sectioned, lozenge form tapering from the broad, flared foot toward more gradually flared rim. Typical tubular decorative devices flanking the neck. The rim apparently polished down a little and reglazed (perhaps trying to match the caramel colored glaze found inside the foot.)
