This sophisticated design is the work of the Polish workshop of ORNO, in Warsaw, made ca. 1965. The curved, open, ovular pendant has a slight twist to it, exposing the highly oxidized interior to all sides, so there is no back or front. The surface features molded horizontal scoring enhanced with oxidation. There are a couple of spots, visible on one side, where the mold left a couple of small, smooth spots...
From the island of Malaita in the Solomon Islands, this alafolo, or war club, is in very fine condition, with a rich dark patina. Measuring just under 40", it still retains much of the kaolin inlay and shows surface irregularities from the hand work. It dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. This Antonio Pineda signed cross necklace is properly hallmarked as shown and weighs a hefty 81 grams. The onyx gemstone cross is a large 2.5in. tall and the links that make up the chain are .25in. wide. Five stones make up the cross and there are no chips or cracks on this piece. Collector and museum quality, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Villains and travelers, Goblins and Priests, Various tales play out in 3 dimensions around the trunk and among the leafy branches of a massive tree forming the core and backdrop of this amazing 19th century altar bell stand. The piece is 6 inches (15.5 cm) tall, the same diameter. It comes enclosed in an old wooden box. This matches the Maezukue Altar table previously listed. One of the most elaborate I have ever seen.

A dark blue satin woman's garment, dating to the late Qing dynasty, with center opening fastened with a gilt metal ball button and two ribbons. The four lobed collar, terminating in ruyi heads, and all wide hems extravagantly embroidered with romance figures in Peking stitch and little gold thread couching. Trimmed with different woven borders, the straight sleeves with embroidered outer cuff bands. Later figured blue silk lining. Condition: very good, only partial little staining...

I am thrilled to present this small wonder of Matilde Poulat's, an early hair comb with the maestra's signature repousse and bezel set jewels. In this case, the stones are one amethyst and two faux turquoise cabs positioned in a pyramid shape right at the comb's center. Gorgeous patina, no flaws noted, with the actual plastic comb in very good shape (I believe also original to the piece), this is a treasure to be displayed and enjoyed...
