Bold and striking sterling necklace designed by Karl Gustav Hansen for Hans Hansen of Denmark. This necklace is from the "Future" line of jewelry manufactured by Hans Hansen between 1932 and 1948. Measuring 15 1/4" end to end, the links are articulated so move and flow freely. The necklace terminates with a threaded screw bolt clasp. It is 3/4" wide and weighs a substantial 137 grams. Dating around 1930, this Mexican Deco Fred Davis necklace in a design that rarely comes up, is an early example of "mixed metals" jewelry. Combining repousse silver with copper wire and then bringing in ripe, saturated color with the amethyst cabs, the necklace is an ode to vineyards and aromatic red wine. Today I have a big 1.5in. tall necklace to offer with an incredible presence. How can I describe this piece other than to say it looks like an Aguilar or Spratling design but it is an original design marked with TAXCO 980. There are no dents to the balls and the silver work has no damage. The weight is 105 grams of quality workmanship. Being 19 inches long there is room enough to fit most. This attractive pottery model of a horse & female rider was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a relatively highly-fired buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in various different coloured pigments. The horse stands alert with its head turned a little to its left. In simple and plain form, the wood stand was preserved with enduring old patina that darken to be nearing as a Zitan piece.
Whatsoever, under close inspection, the characteristics of the rare Huanghuali wood grains and the ghost-eye-like knarl marks were obviously found.
