A beautiful Large Staffordshire blue transfer ware well and tree platter made by Clews circa 1825. The platter features a scenic view of travelers in a landscape with ruins and a floral border. It is beautifully potted in an ovid form with incised foliate ground in a transparent icy green glaze, with the rounded side tapering to a short foot.

There are no repairs or restorations. There is some minor firing fault, degradation, chips at the mouth (picture 3) and minor losses. Minor scattered oxidise spot and a more a visible one shown on picture 5. Otherwise in good condition.

The measurement of the yingqing ewer : Height 19cm and the width is 13.3cm.

This is the second of 4 pieces I will be listing by Arizona Modernist H. Fred Skaggs who was active in the 1960's. His work is rare and impeccable and he used stones indigenous to Arizona. This is a beautiful handmade setting with a magnificent,large irregular shaped turquoise. The front of the ring measures 3/4" by 3/4". It is a size 6 1/4 but can be sized as it is plain in the back. Fine original condition and signed Sterling Hand Made H. Fred Skaggs. Suitable for a man or woman. Spectacular.
