An inspiring sake set showing a plethora of Yohen kiln effects by Nakamura Makoto, each piece enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Bizen Yohen Hyotan Tokkuri and Bizen Sake-nomi respectively. Over the pale, sheer clay deposits of ash glaze, goma kasu and hi-iro scorching combine with smoky black staining for a very unique experience. The perfect compliment to the charms of a good bottle of sake.

This piece comes off like it has been buried in a volcano, incredible igneous encrustations cover the sides, with molten ash, bidoro, goma, kutsuki and a host of other firing enclosed in the original signed wooden box. To one side a crescent moon shaped kutsuki forms a rakish grin, inviting the viewer to join in the merriment. It is a masterpiece by this young artist.
