This plain and simple stocking doll with great old button eyes and probably original stocking cap. He feels like he is stuffed with soft stocking material. He has fancy blue and maroon yarn tied around his ankles that probably matched his clothes. Simplistic pleasure. He is 14 tall and has a few small holes. He is circa 1910-20
This little stockinette black doll is hand sewn and straight forward. She has nice mitten hands with thumbs, nicely shaped feet, is stuffed with cotton and is a mini work of art. Her head is turned to the side a little and I think it is intentional. The embroidered face is sewn with a really skilled hand in the tiniest of stitches. She has on a make-do dress that is a red calico print apron. Looks good from the front but a little WO! WO! from the back...

This little black rag doll has on flannel pants and a tan and blue striped pants. The clothes are not original and he may not have had clothes originally. They are cute and fit him well. He is cotton stuffed rather firmly. He has neutral pencil face but I wide line for his mouth that makes him look happy. He is a wonderful simple all American rag doll. He is 14" tall and circa 1900

This fine antique cloth doll all hand-sewn with a delicately embroidered face, pinched nose, and rosy cheeks have an air of sophistication. She has on a two-piece soft blue-green wool dress, faded some in the front, with antique petticoat and pantaloons, sock, and leather shoes.
Her hair is a black silk fabric with some shredding and a bun at the back of her neck. She is constructed with very fine linen and is stuffed quite firmly with raw wool. This is a very special doll. 21" and C. 1880
This lovely late 19th C. black cloth doll is made with fine polished cotton material, all hand sewn and hand painted. The white band at her neck is part of her clothing and is not a neck stabilizer. The doll and the clothes appear to be hand sewn by the same seamstress/mother/Grammy. The astrakhan hair is the best I have every seen and makes her hairdo look very fashionable. Alice has blue eyes, orange nose and red line mouth that is sad or more likely it was straight across and now the ends are not tacked down so they droop. She is hand sewn from a nice homespun linen but her legs are a cotton and of a lesser quality. I think the legs are original maybe they ran out of the homespun. She has on a sweet white dress with lace at the top and front for trim and a belt sewn on with the name, Alice, embroidered on it...
She is 16" tall, dressed for the coldest of weather, her Mommy made sure she would be warm and now she looks lost. She is almost as wide as she is tall. The clothes are all original, the coat is nicely made and completely lined. Under the coat is a brown dress with a woven in pattern and undies to match. Her eyes are shoe buttons and her nose and mouth are one stitch each that are pulled in...
This wonderful black cloth doll woman stands 24" tall, has layers of antique clothes that I feel could really be original. She is made with black cotton and her face is black sateen that is embroidered with tiny stitches. She is stuffed with cotton but not firmly so she has a soft comfy feel especially with all the layers of clothing. The softness suits her. She is 24" tall and is circa 1880-90. She is just lovely.

Nice homemade linen boy doll with embroidered face, cute ears, black curly hair wearing a red one piece outfit with a sweater over it. The red wool suit is sewn on with I think was a good idea by this mother. He wouldn't still have it on right now if she hadn't. It is brimmed with velvet ribbon and the neck and on the homemade belt around his waist. He has woolen shoes on his feet that are also attached. Over this he has a charcoal wool sweater that keeps him warm...

This large antique black doll has embroidered face with beads for her eyes and mouth, I have never seen this before on a black doll. Her nose I think is would and covered with embroidery floss. He eyebrows are raised also with the use of the same embroidery floss as the nose. She has the lambs wool astrakhan hair. This wonderful topsy turvey is in almost original condition. I don't think she was played with or handled that much but is definitely old and right. Both faces are done by the same hand.
