This brooch/pin is made and signed by renown, French, Jewish sculptor Jacques Lipchitz. It is his interpretation of an Olive Tree. Artist-designed, this golden brooch is one of a small series of gifts given to purchasers of Israeli bonds in the 1960's-1970's. It measures 2" x 2". The back is signed (incised) Lipchitz in script. This Joseff set is elegantly simple and simply elegant---and oh so wearable. It is done in the semi matte finish referred to as Russian gold. This finish is the one for which Joseff is known. The brooch is signed Joseff, an early signature later changed to Joseff of Hollywood. I believe this is a later set produced when the company reissued some early pieces. The brooch is 4 7/8" long, 3" wide. The clip earrings are 2 1/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. The brooch has the Joseff signature.

This is a superior piece of Victorian jewelry. The pin is 2 1/4" long and 11/16" wide. The bezel set onyx or black glass Cameo is 1" in diameter. Circa 1910.
