A vintage modernist very unusual sterling silver pendant by David Andersen, Norway designed by Toril Bjorg. Three dimensional bottle shaped, finished on both sides with what looks like a repousse swirl.

The cuboids or rectangular blocks bear impressed, oxidized linear patterns on all sides, giving the piece a sense of depth. Silver dragon head pin copying that of William Spratling by Serafin Moctezuma, Mexico, c.1950's. Much to the annoyance of Spratling, Moctezuma copied his designs, including the mark "SM", which when turned upside down, looks like a stylized WS, similar to that of Spratling. This lovely American sterling silver and enamel cross exhibits an elaborately scrolled edge and vibrant green enamel. The cross and chain date from at least c. 1915 but could be older. The chain is original and made of flattened, rectangular links; there is no clasp. It tests definitively for silver. Reply at end of description. This type of sterling two piece sword with scabbard brooch pin has been made in Victorian, Art Nouveau, Edwardian and Deco periods, in many different countries, by many different jewelry makers.
This one has a beautiful bezel set pierced, etched green 20 x 15mm Jadeite gem stone and marked Sterling.
3.5" long when sheathed with a 1.75"" blade and weighs a nice.7 oz.
