Handmade sterling and cultured pearls ring, c. 1950's. The modernist silver design has 5 cultured pearls on the top and on the bottom of varied sizes. The ring is size 6 and the front measures 7/8" high by 3/4" wide. Ring is signed "T(in shield) and S(in square box). A vintage hammered sterling silver circles necklace and bangle bracelet in the style of the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis. These examples are both signed 'jb' and sterling, but it is unclear who this was and if they had any relationship to Lewis. They are even signed the same way but with jb instead of the crossed JL.

Very unique ring by Sam Kramer, the 1950s New York based jeweler whose "expressive, organic work and surreal workshop, located on West 8th Street in New York's Greenwich Village, paved the way for other mid-twentieth century metalsmiths, and for many more working today" (Toni Greenbaum). I believe this might have been a custom piece made for a musician, as I can't find anything quite like it in the literature or online...

Modernist sterling silver and tiger eye ring circa 1970s from the workshop of Kultaseppä Salovaara Ky of Finland. This vintage sculptural design ring epitomizes clean restrained Finnish style. A rare brooch and earrings set by noted Sausalito Mid 20th century jeweler, Loyola Fourtane. She and her husband were jewelers and artists and worked from their houseboat in Sausalito, California from the 1930's -50's.

This set is made of sterling silver with copper and brass embellishments and what look like carnelian cabochons.

A rare sterling silver and caged raw purple stone brooch by noted jeweler, Arthur King. Probably amethyst. Marked on the back, Sterling King. Measures 2 1/8" across and 2 1/8" tall. There is a light gold wash on the silver. Has a rolling safety clasp that holds tightly. There is a small area on the edge of the stone that is a little rough, may be original. Classic Arthur King design.

A vintage hand wrought studio sterling silver necklace with a stone drop. Features curved links graduating in size culminating in a greenish brown mottled stone pendant. Measures approximately 19" long. Pendant measures 1 3/4" long and 1 1/4" across. Interesting way that the silver wraps around the stone to hold it in place. Clever hook closure that holds securely. The stone has a hairline mark which actually shows more in the photo than in person. The stone is stable and does not move...

Formed as a stylized, textured ribbon, bisected by a flattened band. The pin has a dynamic feel and is quite sturdy. The rollover clasp is original to the piece and in good working order. The back bears the eagle 3 mark, as well as marks for Mexico and sterling, but no maker’s mark. The pin measures 2 ½ inches by ¾ inch wide. Gross weight: 7.4 grams

These modernist earrings feature polished, irregular-shaped composite turquoise drops attached to serpentine pieces of forged sterling silver wire, secured by curled ends. They hang from commercial screw backs that are marked (and test positively for) sterling silver and are in excellent working condition. The earrings measure approximately 2 1/4 in. long. They are otherwise unmarked.

A modernist brooch by noted mid century silversmith, Frances Holmes Boothby. This brooch measures 3/4" tall and 1 3/4" across. One end is smooth and the other end is textured. Has a freshwater pearl off center. Has an fhb mark and Sterling on the back. Has a safety rollover clasp that holds securely. Fine condition, just a few minor scratches. Classic mid century design.

A vintage sterling silver pendant with a teardrop Australian opal cabochon on a lightly hand hammered link chain. Pendant measures 2" long and 1" across. Chain measures about 20" long. Double hook closure. Has some minor areas of tarnish. Nice work by a talented artisan.

A pair of sterling silver screw back earrings in a mid century modernist design. We have seen only one other pair in almost the exact design signed Ed Wiener. Constructed of a layer of oxidized sterling with a contrasting polished curved sterling wire overlay.

The earrings measure 1 1/4" high and 7/8" across and hold securely. They are marked with Sterling, hand wrought and a partial W in a triangle...
