A sterling silver modernist brooch by noted Mid Century jeweler, Caroline Gleick Rosene. This brooch is made from three thick squared off sterling wires attached to a small triangular piece of sterling. Marked Sterling Rosene on the back. Measures 2 1/4" across and 7/8" at the widest. Rollover safety clasp holds securely. Great example of Mid Century studio jewelry.

Two sophisticated sleek sterling bangles with niello by Hans Hansen and Karl Gustav Hansen. One bangle carries the Hansen script while the other (smaller one) has the Karl Gustav Hansen mark - both are stamped Denmark 209. The inner diameter of one is just shy of 2-1/2"; the other is 2-1/2". Total weight 35 grams.

This sterling silver and copper bolo was designed by Antonio Pineda c. 1950's. The bear claw measures 3" X 2 3/4". Each of the arrowhead tips are 3/4" L. The piece weighs 78 grams. The overall length of the adjustable bolo cord measures 33" from arrow tip to arrow tip. Fully hallmarked. All in fine condition.

Bold and striking long sterling earrings designed by Karl Gustav Hansen for Hans Hansen of Denmark. These earrings are from the "Future" line of jewelry manufactured by Hans Hansen between 1932 and 1948. They hang 2 3/4" long, are 3/4" wide at the bottoms and are screw backs. Weighing 11 grams total, they are in fine original condition. A fabulous Modernist design.

A very nice modernist silverplate over copper tie bar decorated with a design of coiled silver wire by studio jewelers Morley & Kim Crimi. This use of coiled wire is characteristic of the maker, who more frequently worked in copper than in silver. The back is marked “Morley-Crimi Hand Wrought”.

Origin: America, ca. 1955. Condition: good, some wear to lacquered finish near solder joints. Size: 2-3/4” x 11/16”.

Bold, clean lines on this sterling and coral ring by Frank Patania. The center coral is a deep, dark Mediterranean coral at its best. Vintage sterling clip earrings with intricately carved black onyx by Brazilian jeweler Burle Marx in the "forma livre" (free form) style. Burle Marx was particularly known for his use of large gemstones, often fashioned by carving or tumbling rather than being faceted, a technique he invented in 1948. These beautiful earrings measure 1 1/4" by 1 1/8" and are in fine original condition. The stones are free of chips, cracks or scratches. Weighing 36 grams total, they are signed as shown...

Less-is-more is definitely the way Carmen Beckmann chose to go with this vintage Mexican sterling silver and amethyst ring. Set in a disk adorned with overlay and oxidation, it brings to mind a perfectly round stone as it touches the water causing it to ripple. Pendant measures 3 1/2" long. Has a hand made hook clasp that holds securely. Has some tarnish and minor surface scratches. Lays nicely on the neck. Fine modernist design.

A figural repousse Mexican Deco brooch in sterling silver this "portrait" piece bears the signature of early Mexico City maestro M. Velazquez. Over the years of my love affair with vintage Mexican silver jewelry, I have come to know and appreciate Velazquez's work for its "earthiness", its craftsmanship and the interesting designs he created. The specific "mask" motif I have had a few times in the past in necklace, ring and brooch forms but always anonymous...

A vintage silver repousse cuff bracelet with a central carved onyx mask. Two silhouettes of Pre Columbian warriors facing the mask which is surrounded by a repousse of an animal with the mouth opened. Measures 6 1/4" around with an opening of 1". Measures 1 5/8" wide. Coin silver or better. Fine condition. Pre Eagle, ( pre 1948).

This exquisite ring has great Navajo detail adorned with large opals and lapis. The workmanship is excellent. It is truly a remarkable piece. The ring is a size 7. It measures 2 " x 1 1/4" There is a maker's mark on the back that I cannot decipher. It has good heft and is in excellent condition.

Handmade, with an applied graceful, curled stem and jagged edges, this pin is a lovely piece of work by a studio jeweler. The pin tests as sterling silver and is unmarked. It is secured by a rollover clasp and dates anywhere from the 1970s to the 1990s. The pin measures 3 inches long by 1 3/4 inches wide. Weight: 8.5 grams
