Being offered is an exceedingly rare circa 1935 sterling silver arm bracelet by Fred Davis of Taxco, Mexico. A very early piece by one of the pioneers of the premiere Taxco Silver ateliers. Handwrought panels that wrap from the wrist to the arm using a 7 clasps mechanism. Dimensions: bracelet starts at 6 1/4 inches and goes up the arm to 8 1/4 inches. Marked as illustrated. In excellent condition. Excellent weight. Truly an amazing bracelet!

Being offered is a rare circa 1955 sterling silver and obsidian stone bracelet by Alfredo Villasana of Taxco, Mexico. The handcrafted thick gauge silver cuff set with a large round obsidian stone secured by four spiral prong settings, secured with box clasp. Villasana worked for William Spratlng and Hector Aguilar before opening his own shop in Taxco. Dimensions: Size 8”; stone is 1 3/4" by 2 1/4"; band is 3/4" wide. Marked as illustrated. This brooch is made of thick sterling tangled wire in a brutalist design. Measures 1 1/2" tall and 1 3/4" at the widest. Weighs 14 gr.

Has the stylized i sklar hallmark and sterling on the back. Rollover clasp holds securely.

A maestro from the middle period of Mexico's 20th c. Silver Renaissance, Carsi is among those Taxco silversmiths about whom we don't really know much. I have had pieces by him a few times over the years and I was pleasantly surprised to have found his signature on the ornate bangle bracelet presented here. This wire-work scrolled heart motif I am used to associating with Arte en Plata, even though I have seen it by other makers or even anonymous in the past...
