Francoise Gall, french, 1912-1987. This wonderful beach scene is Francoise Gall at his best. It is oil on canvas, 16 1/8" L by 9.5" H in a beautiful 20th C gold leaf frame with outer dimensions of 22 6/8" L by 16 1/8" H. It is signed lower right and is in good condition. His paintings sell for up to $50,000 at auction.

Please notice the new photo which shows a stylistic monnogram on her collar. We believe this monnogram represents P J P. We will be doing more research on this monnogram. We are researching this exceptional 16th century portrait of Mary, Queen of Scots (1542-1567). This oil on panel measures 20" x 17". This is a decorative painting of the sweep of the Bay of Naples and its famous Mt. Vesuvius volcano, executed in the classic manner with a few figures scattered in the foreground. A gnarled pine at center provides a dramatic focus point. The painting, 12" by 20" (15" by 23" framed) is old looking but probably dates to the mid 20th century; see staples on the tacking edge, and the reverse of the canvas doesn't look all that old---basically it's a case of looking older than it is.
