An impressionist painting of the famous obelisk and fountain in the center of Paris at the iconic Place de la Concorde, 24" by 29" (and the very nice period frame 31" by 36"). An old oil on wood panel painting of a peaceful stream running through a wooded area, unsigned, 9 1/4" by 13", unframed. The work is obviously by a talented hand, probably a listed artist had he/she signed it. The oval artist's materials stamp on reverse of panel and the work itself suggests a date of circa 1900, maybe 1910. The oil needs some attention from a restorer to fully expose its original beauty...

For the collector of modern and mid century art, here is an interesting work from the year 1947. The highly modern painting of a green apple, blue pitcher and red and white diamond patterned cloth in a rather two dimensional and "airless" space is obviously the work of an accomplished artist. It is painted in oil on canvas, (unframed), the measurements being 32" by 11", and the artist, HENRI WORMSER (1909-) signed it at lower right in capital letters...

Large 27" by 33 1/2" (33" by 39" framed), oil on canvas still life cornucopia painting of fruit and flowers including tulips and carnations, in a basket set on a vaguely defined table top against a dark background, apparently unsigned, circa mid 19th century but in the tradition of 17th century Dutch still life. This came recently from a fine area home, where it was proudly displayed in the living room. I do not see a signature...

Francoise Charles Cachoud, French, 1866-1943. This pensive and beautifully painted French Country House Scene in the moonlight is another wonderful example of Cachoud's genius with light and shadow and contrast. It is oil on canvas 23" by 28" in a period 3" frame for dimensions of 29" by 34".

Francoise Boucher Attr or School of : Cupids in Landscape: Pair 18th C French. This pair of oils on canvas is lovely in the quality of painting and the charming subject matter. Each panel is 28"w by 64"h. They had hinges on them as a standing screen but were later used as hanging panels. They are from a prominent french family who brought them to the USA.

This is an unsigned 19th century copy of the Francois Boucher original that was acquired by The Louvre, in Paris, in 1852. This copy was probably created within twenty-five years after Boucher painted his original.

A charming oil on canvas painting of central Paris by the Seine, a number of tiny figures enjoying their walks along the river with its barges. The artist signed at lower right "L Florguin" and dated the work 1953. Very surprisingly I see only scant information under this name. However the artist was obviously very familiar with the French naive school painters who flourished in the immediate post-war years. Measurements are 18" by 13" on the stretchers and 23 1/2" by 18 1/2" in "distressed"...
