Joseph (Jusepe) Ribera, Spanish, 1588-1656. This exquisite portrait of a boy brings to mind Caravaggio. It is oil on canvas and signed faintly with the Monogram J R lower right. It is in good condition and has been lined long ago. There is an old tag on the upper back with the name in French and a price of $27,500. He is listed in Benezit and his paintings sell for up to $75,000.
