Konstantin Szewczenko (1915-1991) was born in Warsaw, Poland, studied at the Warsaw Academy of Arts, and participated in international exhibitions. He is very well known for painting Jewish genre and rabbinical scenes.

A painting of the famous Andes mountain and lake resort of Bariloche in central Argentina, oil on canvas, 22" by 29", unframed, signed "MA" at lower right and "M. C. Alsina" on stretcher, circa 1960. Palmer studied with George Bellows at the Art Students League. He is known for his portraits and his illustration work (pulp fiction covers). He also worked on murals in Connecticut for the WPA Federal Arts Project. 25" by 21" in its frame.

This is a well known and picturesque part of Wales, an area that attracted many artists in the 19th and early 20th century. The artist may possibly be the listed EDWARD or EDWIN Masters.
