An adorable tabby cat drawn in pastels directly on an old soft board, probably early 20th century or even turn of the century, in an old octagonal mat. For the dog aficionado, especially those who prize the terriers, a 24" by 30" pastel of two white dogs lounging most comfortably on cushions in an upscale interior, while staring out placidly at the viewer. A nicely worked pastel drawing of cypress trees in a swamp landscape, Spanish Moss hanging down gracefully, the work signed at lower right "Sr. M. Lucy", 8" by 6" as framed, circa 1950. This is a difficult subject to draw well but the artist accomplished the chore with skill. Condition is excellent. I do not see an obvious listed artist with whom to link this. Framing is simple, work will need to be re-matted/sealed as it is currently loose under the glass.
