John Winkler, American, 1894-1979, "Standard Fisheries". This 1941 etching by John Winkler measures 13 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches and is pencil signed. Winkler was originally from Austria coming to America at the age 16. After various jobs he impulsively enrolled in the San Francisco Art Institute and soon discovered his talent as an etcher. He became good friends with John Taylor Arms as well as Arthur Heintzelman. His works are found in many major museums throughout the US and Europe.

This is an original etching, 11" by 16 1/2" (17" by 21" as framed), by American artist Kerr Eby (1889-1946). The title of the work is "Cattle Ford", and it was executed in 1945, in an edition of 100 apparently. Eby was born in Tokyo to Canadian missionaries but was in the United States by age 3. At 18 he went to New York City for art education, working for a lithographic firm to enhance his financial situation, gaining valuable experience that served him well later in life...

First edition, and a rare example of a work actually printed and signed by the artist (This first edition was later completed posthumously by Berkley Chappell.) Titled "S/P '50-'55" lower left, numbered 4/25 center, and signed W. Black '55 lower right. In a period mid-century frame. 22 by 15 image alone, 33 by 24 in the frame. Provenance available.

Otto Bacher, American, 1856-1909, "The Bridge, Schleissheim". This is a very fine original etching, image size 5 1/8 x 7 3/4 inches, 1879, from Bacher's Danube Set, pencil signed. A very richly inked impression beautiful plate tone on a fine wove type paper with ample margins.

Miniature sized etching (2 1/2" by 3 1/4", and 7 1/2" by 8" framed), titled in margin at lower left in pencil "Cape Cod Shoreline", and pencil signed at lower right by Massachusetts listed artist MARGARET ELDER PHILBRICK (1914-1999). This is a mid-century work, I would guess, by a woman artist who was known for still life and landscape works, primarily in the etching medium.
