This is a fine original etching by British artist Robert S. Austin. The title is: The Stone Breaker, created and printed in 1925. The image measures 4 1/8X5 5/16 inches. This impression printed on a tan laid paper with a rams head watermark. Very fine condition, hand signed in pencil. Illustrated in the Modern Masters quarterly 1929 published by Salaman.

This etching appears at first glance to be almost certainly a work of famous Dutch artist Rembrandt van Rijn, but further study shows it to be a 19th century print by Chevalier IGNACE JOSEPH DE CLAUSSIN (1766-1844), ardent, eccentric artist in his own right and a scholar and copyist of graphic work by the Dutch master. De Claussin published in 1824 a catalogue raisonne that at the time was a major contribution to the scholarly study of Rembrandt's prints...

Stephen Parrish, American, 1846-1938, etching, "Sunset, Gloucester Harbor", image size: 4 7/8 x 8 3/4 inches, 1880, cat. Schneider 40, SP number 40, first state of two, pencil signed. A beautiful, rich impression, Parrish makes excellent use of plate tone to imbue the scene with atmosphere. The second state, which has much less ink in the sky and sea, was later published in American Etchings.

A French Poster that belonged to the actress Greer Garson. This was lent to the College of Santa Fe for exhibition when Garson appeared in the production of Madwoman of Chaillot. On the back Garson has written the information, shown in photo. Measures about 16 1/2" by 23 3/4", frame overall about 17 1/2" by 24 3/4". Appears to be attached to backing. Nice Art Nouveau Style and interesting provenance.
