This color aquatint by Luigi Kasimir measures 17 3/4 x 15 inches, pencil signed, plated dated 1925, cat: Lorenz-5. Kasimir studied at the Vienna Academy of Art, although much of his etching technique was self taught and learned through working from nature. He specialized in atmospheric images of architecture, city scenes and landscapes; some bustling with people and automobiles, others quite timeless and serene.

Etching, 8 3/4" by 7" inside the mat, 14 1/4" by 12 3/4" framed, pencil signed at lower right margin, by the famous French artist, JEAN-FRANCOIS RAFFAELLI (1850-1924). This image of a building along a road, with small figures, is an example of the poetic impressionist style of his later period. Raffaelli found the common, the poor, the working class, and the underprivileged people of Paris and its industrial suburbs to be his favorite subjects, leading some to call him the "Millet of Paris"...

A pair of fine lithograph prints on Arches paper, from an edition of 300 examples, signed in the plate, printed in 1966 in Paris by Andre Sauret for Mourlot Freres. The prints are from a set of twelve images that were used as illustrations in the book "Stempeniou" by Cholen Aleikhem. The major Jewish-Ukrainian artist, EMANUEL MANE-KATZ (1894-1962) began working on the project in Geneva in 1958, at which time he created the gouaches on which the prints were later based...

A scarce botanical mezzotint engraving of the plant species "Caryophyllus gramineus humilis" (carnation), plate No. 330, from Phytanthoza Iconographia, 1737-1745, considered the first important botanical work to use color engraving prints. The work is known for the accuracy and beauty of the prints, which can now bring impressive sums at Sotheby's and Christie's auctions in London...

There was a signed (1962) edition with margins, and examples sell between $6,000 and $12,000 at auction (size significantly larger). An unusual and difficult to photograph trio: two heavy copper etching plates and one tin or zinc lithograph plate, the latter signed clearly Emil Kosa Jr., and one of the copper plates signed with reverse-etched conjoined initials that spell out EK and probably also "Jr". Chelsea Bridge is a bridge over the River Thames in west London.
