As with all of Dorothy Bauer's rhinestone jewelry, the stones are Austrian crystal and are prong set. The frame is constructed and soldered by hand. California designer Bauer creates some pieces in LIMITED EDITIONS. This Christmas tree is one of them and this particular tree is 26/120 as is shown on the back of the pin. The Bauer cartouche is also displayed on the back. A white leather-like storage pouch and a collectors' record and description are included. The pin is 2 1/2" tall, 1 1/2" wide.

We just found out that this buckle was designed by Denez for the Autumn/Winter 1970 Yves Saint Laurent season. We found examples from the same series in the book, "Yves Saint Laurent Accessories," by Patrick Mauries. The buckle measures 4 x 5" (10.5 x 12.5 cm). It is made to hold a 2" (5.5 cm) wide belt and has it s original attachment piece. Art Nouveau in style with bronze, copper and gilt tones, it reminds me of some of the metro stations in Paris...

This contemporary brooch by French designer Pavone is made of galalith (a plastic derived from skim milk!). The little cat just oozes sassy personality and begs to be taken home by a cat lover. He is three levels thick--head and paws front level, body second level, and tail the third level. Great design. 3 1/2" tall, 1 3/4" wide. Pavone signature on the back of the brooch.

Spectacular unusual vintage couture necklace, probably 1980s, in dark silvertone metal with a variety of large multi color glass stones in different shapes, all prong set, with hook clasp and extender. With a center chain form riviere with clear stones and attached large stones in blue, olive green, teal green, red, purple, and topaz, along the sides. The largest stones are openback and unfoiled. Enormous, absolutely enormous! This stunning brooch designed by Vrba is composed of abalone petals and molded green glass leaves. The center of the flower has prong set clear rhinestones in various shapes. As the pictures indicate the brooch is very chunky. Vrba nameplate on the back. 5 1/2" by 5".

This ring is wide (1cm), indented on top, and laps over slightly onto the adjoining finger. It was designed by Nanna Ditzel. Inside the ring band are the Georg Jensen mark in a circle of dots, 925S Denmark, 227, and ND. The ring is US size 6. I bought it nearly 40 years ago (in 1985) so it may well be out of production.

This grape design is sometimes called Moonlight Grapes. An early Georg Jensen design (1920s), it was updated slightly in 2010, including giving individual grapes more heft. There are three especially large ones at the top of the bunch. Designed by Harald Nielsen, it measures 1.5in wide x 2.75in long (4cm x 7cm). I bought it in 2000 and it’s in excellent condition, almost never worn.
