RARE Vintage Murano Cased SQUARE COLOR Spots and GOLD FLECKS Art Glass Circus CLOWN Bowl Sculpture!!! Attributed to Alfredo BARBINI, with a decorative design usually seen on Dino Martens pieces. I would say it is more than just unusual! The Head and Hands are filled with Gold. It has a Black Hat with gold leaf over it, bright Red Nose and Mouth, and large Black Shoes. This Royal Doulton oval scalloped Series Ware platter depicts Charles at Chelsea Hospital. It is from the series Historic England.
This series was introduced in 1938. It bears the initials of the Artist M. F. It has a special back stamp that incorporates the scene name and the pattern number D. 5940.
It is 11 1/2 long and 9 3/8" wide. This item is in excellent condition including the gold rim.
Stippled Band was the first toy dish pattern produced by Akro Agate. The transparent topaz color pictured here was only made in 1935-6 and is very difficult to find. Here is a whimsical piece of folk art, possibly depicting an Australian Cassowary. A plastic coconut shell serves as the body, the feathered tail and headdress are accented by a furry brown material while the spindly neck and legs made from sticks. Unsigned.
