Gold Ormolu metal work is in very good condition, and hinges and knob are all original including glass sides, top and shelves and mirror bottom. No damage or restoration.

This box measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 2 3/4". The top has a beautiful design with a bezel-set, green / turquoise, bezel set stone "handle." The top is sterling silver. The base is copper with a wooden inlay. The inside of the top is marked STERLING S & E for Sweetser Manufacturing Co. The bottom of the copper base is also marked S & E (with the company's hallmark) numbered 19928. It has a monogram I cannot decipher (which, of course, can be removed by any jeweler)...

There is wear on the knobs and in a number of other places, which contribute to a feeling of antiquity.

An antique Japanese Meiji period solid silver picture frame circa 1880-1900. This antique 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" frame has a bamboo pattern with a patterned ground; it has a textured snakeskin design paper over wood backing that originally had a support foot for standing up the frame. That is now missing and replaced with a wire so it can be hung on the wall. The frame front has copper round-head nails. It retains the original patterned backing paper and glass window...
