Large, iron figural standing mirror, c.1870. Very decorative - cherubs, women fairies, flowers, hearts, & torch and arrows make up this intricately designed mirror - see photos. It measures 15" wide by 16" long and is extremely heavy. Metalwork is in excellent condition but mirror can use some re-silvering, if desired. Would sit on a dresser but has a back loop for hanging. From 1712, when the imperial armory in the town of Tula, south of Moscow, was founded by Peter the Great (r. 1682–1725), the master armorers regularly enjoyed imperial patronage.[1] During the reign of Empress Elizabeth (1741–61), they began to produce a sideline of cut-steel decorative items and furniture now known as Tula ware. A special box to hold a secret? This is an unusual rectangular bronze casket-form in ornate Gothic Revival style, having cast bas relief, highly decorated with religious motif illustrating scenes from the life of Christ; circa 1870's. The original interior is lined with balsa wood and most likely used as a tobacco cigar caddy box. These boxes were popular souvenirs of the European Grand Tour and were based of the great treasures of Continental Europe...

Pair of decorative leather bound bookends with brass accents. Silver tone metal mounts of a Griffon accent the brass; gold tone stitching accents the rich brown leather. Bears logo of Mark Cross in gold on the bottom of each piece. The bookends measure 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) tall, 5.5 inches (14 cm) deep and 6.25 inches (15.9 cm) wide. Some scuffs and marks from use, but no rips or tears to the leather, nor dents to the metal. Circa 1960.

A nice vintage leather box embossed “Studs” on the top. Most of these boxes are round, but this example is a much more uncommon horseshoe, the lid also embossed with a horseshoe. These boxes were original intended to store shirt studs or cufflinks, but can be used for any variety of gentleman’s accessories.

This box measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 2 3/4". The top has a beautiful design with a bezel-set, green / turquoise, bezel set stone "handle." The top is sterling silver. The base is copper with a wooden inlay. The inside of the top is marked STERLING S & E for Sweetser Manufacturing Co. The bottom of the copper base is also marked S & E (with the company's hallmark) numbered 19928. It has a monogram I cannot decipher (which, of course, can be removed by any jeweler)...

This is a pretty robins egg blue and gold enameled brass compact-shaped hinged double picture frame. The cover depicting a gold butterfly over a leafy branch. When open it holds two vintage pictures Measurements: 3" square closed. Excellent condition; may need cleaning.

A rare carved bone abacus with integral reverse glass painting depicting four boys, in a garden setting, peering into a large fish bowl. There is an added inscritpion carved into one side recording that this item was given as a gift in Hong Kong in 1953. An exceptional pair of near perfect condition Art Deco design and period 'Gueridon' form side tables. The tables with circular tops 27.5 inches in diameter, 28 inches high.
