Beautifully carved Green Spinach Jade Chinese Boulder with landscape scenes of mountainous village with go players and bamboo groves, peaked rooflines and finely written calligraphy poetry on two surfaces on an interesting wooden reticulated branch base. Wonderful 1960’s sterling silver concho belt by a very fine Navajo silversmith of N.P, c. 1950s-60s.

Unusally large and heavy plus very ornate with particularly fine select large torquise stones mounted on 12 Conches and the massive buckle.

The belt measure 130 cm. length and weighs 932 grams, almost a kilo. Probably the largest we've seen for sale and the high weight must be due to the larger size of the Conchos and buckle.

Japanese print by sosaku-hanga artist Haku Maki (1924-2000), titled "Work 74-7". It shows the profile of a tree with many long, twisting branches in a beautiful navy blue color against a metallic silver background. A wonderful statue of the Bodhisattva Kwan Yin carved from precious aloeswood. The distinct and pleasant fragrance of aloeswood is the result of a special kind of mould and is highly treasured for its use in incense and perfumes among various Eastern religions. Painting of Scholar Under Moonlit Plum Blossoms by Park No Soo aka Nam Jeong (1927-2013). Just the first page of a google search reveals both the renown that Park No Soo enjoyed internationally, and the adoration he received locally in Korea. His minimal style and palette is instantly recognizable, and this beautiful, contemplative painting is a fine example of his inimitable, expressive brushwork, from the silvery-blue sliver of a moon, to the unique rendering of orchids and rocks...

Rope and cloth patterns are impressed creating deeply textured shadows on this free form ceramic sculpture awarded the Kyoto Governors prize, and dated on bottom Heisei 10 (1998) by Yasuda Kayo. A pale ash glaze runs in sheets and rivulets over the lined and creased surface, with the top bursting open. This piece is 15 kilograms, 16 inches (40 cm) diameter, 18 inches (45 cm) tall and in fine condition...

Kokeshi, folk toy of NE Japan. Wood, Height 9.5". This is an example of the unique Nambu-kei kokeshi from Iwate Prefecture. Of the Tohoku (NorthEast) Region where all "dentou" (traditional) kokeshi originate, Iwate may have the fewest number of craftsmen and localized traditions. Unique among these is the unpainted Nambu-kei kokeshi shown here...

A very nice Chinese hardwood lid for a jar. Wood unknown, but is the color of a dark rosewood. In excellent condition, the lid measures 3.25" diameter by 2.25" including finial. Fits an opening 1 5/8th inches or larger".

We have a matching 2 inch high stand with the inner diameter being 3 inches for $35.

Red highlights the salt glazed body of this multifaceted tsubo by Seto Hiroshi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Enseki-yu Tamentori Tsubo. Like stepping stones stomach scales of a snake climb in concentric arcs about the body of the base, the white covering most with red highlighting the edges. It is 8 inches (20 cm) tall, roughly the same diameter and in excellent condition...

A large Japanse woodblock print, by famed artist Tadashi Nakayama. The depiction is the shadow of a bronze Giboshi (architectural post) against a large Buddhist temple door, with silver leaf accent hardware. Signed, dated in pencil, number 24/50.

Beautiful Chinese hardwood seal treasure box, possible Zitan or Wumu wood,with all over carved design of complex geometric motifs and dragons. Four drawers are hidden on each side with dividers inside for storing and organizing seals. Its stand is intricately carved with spirals and flowers. Dates from the 20th century.
