This attractively-shaped porcelain jar was made during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. Both jar and cover are decorated in underglaze blue with scrolling floral and lotus patterns, and coated in a silky smooth glaze. A very thinly potted small blue and white Ming dynasty saucer. It is so thinly potted that if held against the light, we can see through it. The centre of the saucer has a flower that looks like a lotus pod in a double circle. The porcelain is slightly grayish in colour. It has the Cheng Hua (1465-1487) six character mark and of the period.

There are minor firing faults with frittings and chips along the rim and base. No hair line crack. Generally in good condition.

A large and very impressive tomb pottery horseman, Chinese, 1368-1644 AD. The type has been thoroughly tested and was burnt approx 500 years ago, placing it in the mid Ming period, c. early-mid 16th. century.

The pottery horseman, a higher-ranking officer, was probably originally equipped with a standard of wood, that has now decayed. He is clad in body armor in blue and torquise and wears a cone- shaped helmet. He is riding a white horse with details in torquise.
