A spectacular work by Sugimoto Sadamitsu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Aka (red) Hanaire. The feeling is like Raku, with a very thin glaze over rough clay affecting hi-iro colors within the glazing. This is a wonderful piece for showing this master-potters control of glazing and firing technique.

Once again Abe Anjin has proved his mastery of traditional form with this superb rendition of Momoyama styling. Impurities in the clay mar the surface and pale ash dusts the shoulder with raw clay hints of yellow flash where flame has licked the body...

The lines and mouths of the slip-cast vessels are modified manually, making each form unique. The uniformly white bodies show a myriad of different faces depending on the viewing angle and the shadows cast by surface shapes, contributing to the unique appeal of her work...

Only a master of aesthetics and a hermit could put his tea bowl together, here an amazing work by Harada Shuroku enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Bizen Chawan. Superb organic form displaying dark and awe inspiring, it shows to dramatic effect the path of flame in the kiln through the streaks of crusted ash and hi-iro on the sides interspersed with Shiso-iro gray-purple clay, and it might take eight hands to hold this masterpiece...

An unprecedented work by modern pottery legend Tsujimura Shiro covered in feldspathic glaze and enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Nezumi Shino Chawan.  Here rich iron burns red on one side, fading slowly into the white glaze scarred by pin holes, traces of the artists fingers in the rising body and about the base, where he held it while dipping in the glaze.   A shino Chawan by this artist is virtually unheard of, and rarely comes to market.
