Here is a water container which certainly does not let down, everything we have come to expect from this popular Japanese artist enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Oribe Mizusashi and date to 2011. Various of green, rich irons flare and flashes of yellow glass, shell marks on the rim and the top of the lid where it was supported on its edge in the kiln. Knowledge of how it was fired makes the work of this artist and his work even more impressive, sometimes he seems to defy gravity with pools of ash and clouds of fire leaving one to wonder, “If this were the bottom, how did that happen?”
