Rich Oribe serving piece, an Ogi-hachi, fan shaped tray for tea ceremony, kaiseki. This piece is made of stoneware and was made by veteran Oribe potter, Kato Sakusuke. His works are widely exhibited and published and his touch for making Oribe pottery is wonderful.

This piece is in great condition with its signed box and measures 12.5" by 9"

Large and powerful Shiro-Hagi chawan by veteran Hagi potter; Mashita Tadashi. This chawan though appearing pure white, has a nice blush of pink through out portions of the bowl. The lip is slightly lobed and created an elegant appearance. The chawan measures 5.2" x 3.5". This Shiro-Hagi resembles the works of Miwa Kyuwa and Miwa Kyusetsu for a fraction of the price.

This chawan is in perfect, unused condition and comes complete with it signed and Zen priest attested box...

This noble vase with flared mouth is by Ningen Kokuho, Living National Treasure; Shimizu Uichi (1926-2004). The vase is glazed in a complex partridge feather yohen iron glaze over a wonderful and stark white stoneware clay body.

Shimizu Uichi (Un’ichi) was a pioneer in iron glazes and was best known for his various iron glazes and his kannyu crackle celadons...

Rich Oribe glazed faceted (mentori) travel teabowl (tabi-chawan) with box and made in spring 2008. In perfect condition with rich copper flow tea pool.

Higuchi is well known for his tactile tabi-chawan in Oribe and Shino glazes and is published in numerous magazines and publications.

Potent green Iga-Oribe vase by noted master Japanese potter; Kishimoto Kennin (1934-). This roughly faceted mentori vase has varying hues of green and an overall iridescence across the body. Though Iga-Oribe, the clay body is actually wonderful Shigaraki clay with a healthy amount of feldspar inclusions.

Kishimoto has been making pots since the early 1950’s and is well know for a wide variety of wares that he has made including Shigaraki, Iga, Iga-Oribe, celadons and Ki-Seto...
