Features a piece of amber carved and polished in the shape of a blossom, surmounting a sterling silver stem with vines and leaves. A small bud is represented by an amber bead. The pin stem is marked 925, indicating a possible European origin or maker, as European makers usually marked the pin stems. The rollover clasp is in good working order. The pin measures 2 ¾ inches long by 5/8 inch wide at the blossom.

A large bangle composed of 63 thin, white metal bangles, each decorated with oxidized and impressed bisecting lines. The thin bangles are entwined so as to lie comfortably on the arm, with a Slinky-like feel despite its heft of about 150 grams. The bracelet has a bit of flexibility for getting it over the hand, but for the most part its interior circumference of about 7 ½ inches is pretty firm. The composite thickness of the bracelet is about 2 inches around. It is unmarked.

A sturdy bracelet composed of a half-bangle connected with a series of abstract-shape hinged links, it bears the mark 'RIC,' for Erika Hult de Corral, along with her post-1980 mark of TR-26 on the box clasp and tongue. The safety chain appears to be original to the piece. The bracelet has a 7-in. interior circumference, and the widest elements measure 5/8 in. Weight: 29 grams

A sterling silver pendant necklace set with colorful stones in an oxidized surface, similar to the style of Matilde Poulat. The pendant is decorated with a central cabochon amethyst and roughly set with small turquoise beads and, possibly, coral fragments. Applied wirework wends around the pendant as well as the four drops. The chain is composed of oxidized bow-shaped elements with tire-tread edges, applied wire filaments, and roughly set tiny turquoise beads. The box clasp is in good working order. The pendant back bears the unidentified but well-known maker’s mark of AA and the post-1980 maker’s mark of TR-35. The necklace measures 20 1/2 inches long; the pendant with drops measures 2 ¼ inches long and 2 1/8 inches across. Gross weight: 63.7 grams

A wide sterling silver band supports a rectangular piece of polished blue and orange art glass. The inside of the sturdy band indicates it is sterling silver and displays the partial mark of Melvin Roman, a contemporary costume jewelry designer. The ring is approximately a size 6. The mounted glass measures 1 ¼ inches long by 1 inch wide by about ¼ inch high.

This pin is a late 20th century rendition of a traditional Russian balalaika composed of sterling silver strings and fittings on a triangular piece of amber. The neck has a layer of what looks like pressed wood to serve as the fingerboard. There is a mark for sterling on the back of the frame and what are probably the maker’s initials of SP; the Polish mark for sterling, 1986 to the present, is on the pin stem. There is a small flake to the back of one corner of the amber body that is visible with a loupe. The pin measures, approximately 2 ½ inches long by 1 inch wide.

This bracelet is quirky and fun -- and you'll probably never see another quite like it! It's composed of five rectangular silver plaques, each fused with a layer of brass. The quirky part is three silver and brass protrusions of varying heights whimsically applied to each panel, the highest one rising about 1/2 inch from the surface. The hook clasp and connecting bars are hand wrought, leaving the hammer marks and imprecise shapes for a lovingly homemade look. Dating is a bit iffy, but it's probably from the 1980s-1990s, based on style and patina. It's unsigned but the forged bars test as silver. The bracelet measures 7 3/8 inches long by 1 ¼ inches wide. Gross weight: 65 grams

Here is a well-made and nicely conceived silver pin by an unknown studio jeweler. The triangular base is impressed with a geometric pattern enhanced by oxidized surfaces of various metallic shades. A convex silver disk is mounted on the panel at a jaunty angle for contrast. The pin has a commercial rollover clasp in good working order. The back bears no mark except for a K in a triangle, most likely a maker's mark. It measures just under 2 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches high by 1/4 inch deep. Weight: 15 grams

A whimsical and colorful sterling silver pin is formed as a bird with a sharp, upturned beak and fan-like tail. The enameled areas are well defined and retain their polished surface. The rollover clasp is very secure and the pin is marked Peru and sterling on the back. It measures approximately 1 7/8 inches across by 1 1/4 inches high. Weight: 10 grams

Here is a nicely designed, solid pair of Mexican sterling silver earrings. They are decorated with balls and curls around center squares, defined by a subtle patina. They are marked sterling, but bear no maker’s mark; the clip backs are in good working order. They measure about 1 inch square.

Here is a substantial 1970s handmade ring composed of a hammered disc mounted on a thick band. It is marked 925; there is no maker’s mark. The disc measures 1 inch in diameter; the ring size is about 8 1/4; the band is adjustable.

This handmade sterling silver stylized oak leaf has an arts and crafts feel. It has incised ‘veins’ and applied branchlike stems. On the back is a safety clasp and a mark for sterling. It measures 3 1/2 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide.

Weighing in at a healthy 255 grams, this necklace of variegated agate makes an attractive and bold statement. The beads, which range from 15 mm to 20mm in size, are highly polished and show various shades of deep red-brown, mauve and gray, often within one bead. They have been restrung with wire thread, with tiny yellow metal spacer beads and a strong gold-filled spring-ring clasp. One bead has a small flake and crack; a second bead has a flake at the drill hole. Neither is visible when worn. The strand measures 25 inches long.

Here is a nice Norwegian pendant from David-Andersen in a stylized spade shape, decorated with a pattern of impressed and textured half-circles. According to an internet source, it was designed by Toril Bjorg for David-Andersen in 1977. It is well marked on the back, and measures 2 inches long by 1 1/4 inches at its widest part. Weight: 15.4 grams

This three-sided bangle bracelet features a clean, modernist design, with a flattened edge and rounded corners. A bezel-mounted amber-colored glass cabochon is applied to each side. The bracelet is marked .925, with no maker’s mark. The bangle measures a little over 2 5/8 inches at its widest opening; it fits comfortably over a hand that measures 3 1/4 inches wide at the knuckles.

The clasp on this sterling silver bracelet is fashioned as a buckle, with a hinged bar that closes over the end of the ‘belt’ to secure it. The bracelet is constructed as three hinged pieces, with bands of chain work applied to the outside. It is marked 925 Mexico on the inside of the securing bar. The bracelet measures 1 inch wide at the buckle; the band measures 1/2 inch wide. The bracelet, when closed, measures 2 1/2 inches across the opening and has an internal circumference of 7 inches. It is not adjustable. Weight: 56.9 grams

This complex bracelet has an almost glitzy appearance that belies its artistry, but gives it a formal look. It is composed of cast rectangular links of two sizes, alternating with organic, anemone-like elements; it looks to have been made from lost-wax casting. It features an iridescent finish that gives it a pinkish tone in some places; on one of the end links, the finishing process has left a darkened area. The bracelet is marked 835 on the underside of the clasp to indicate the standard for silver in some European countries. It measures 7 1/4 inches long by a little under 3/4 inch at the wider links. Weight: 38.1 grams

This handmade abstract pin features a biomorphic design composed of a slice of translucent banded carnelian with an unpolished edge, secured within a biomorphic frame of thick, hand-wrought sterling silver wire. It is unsigned and bears only a sterling mark. A rollover clasp secures the pin. The stone is in lovely condition, and is held in place by small silver bands applied across the front and back frames; there is no adhesive. The pin measures 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches.
