A luscious bud vase in the Onion Bulb shape 645, enameled in mulberry and blue. The vase was designed in 1907 by Emma Kinkead. The underside is incised with the logo and name of Van Briggle and Colo Spgs for Colorado Springs. Very good condition with 3 very small glaze specks at the base which are noted in a picture. The vase dates to early 20th C. Dimensions: 3.5" w, 3.25" d, 4.25" h. The vase has very small glaze flakes near the base. Otherwise it is in very good condition.

A monumental vase in the Art Nouveau style by the well known Turn-Teplitz factory which produced some of the most innovative and stylish vases of the Art Nouveau period from which this vase descends. Its complicated design is matched by its enduring beauty, with four upturned arms - reminiscent of an octopus - providing support for the controlled widening conical body. American Brilliant Cut Glass Pitcher richly cut with deep vessicas, stars, and other embellishments. The bulbous body tapers to wide neck with scalloped rim. The attached heavily faceted handle has a flat top. The underside has 32 point star. The blank is very clear. Condition is superb. Marked Libbey on the handle top. This pitcher is a superior example of brilliant cut glass in general but of hollow ware in particular. Height: 7 1/2"

A finely cast iron lion en passant with modeling in the animalier style screw mounted on rectangular base. Very good condition with slight oxidation and minor blemishes to patina, mostly on base. We date this sculpture to mid 19th C., unmarked. Length: 11 1/4"

Chinese export armorial platter with deep well, having a central coat of arms consisting of globe / shield, mythical bird, and effulgent plumes, adorned with floral spray below, and above with the banner inscription Patientia Vincit. Chinese export porcelain mug, with handle, on foot rim, painted in the famille rose palette. In excellent condition with discoloration especially around handle, indicative of an old repair. One central reserve with 2 men, otherwise surrounded by blue and white flowers and polychrome bouquet; rimmed with blue on white panels. Underside tagged with identification from at least 40 years ago. Dates to middle of 18th C. Very fine specimen. Height: 5"

An unusual octagonal Chinese lacquer stacked box set painted with black ground and elaborate gold designs featuring prominently the warring dragons and pearl motif on the lid, also repeated stylistically on the sides. Cabriole legs support a sunken base which supports 2 trays and a lid. Overall condition is quite good but as you will see in one of the photos, there is paint loss on the legs to varying degrees, the one shown being the most egregious example. A fine French mantle clock in the rococo style made of rouge marble with gilded bronze feet and accents, atop which stands a bronze of Joan of Arc by Henri Emile Giraud (1825-92,Fr), and thus signed. The clock works, but has no visible markings. It is in excellent condition and works. It dates to c. 1875. Dimension: 26" h

This 14K gold American Waltham pocket watch has exceptionally fine embossed and chased gold decoration of floral motifs. The face is enamel with Roman numerals. The face is covered by a plastic bezel over over another crystal. Serial number and gold purity stamped on the back. Dimension: 1 1/2"

This diminutive black basalt wax seal was made by Wedgwood in the late 18th C. as a protest against slavery and features Hercules. The condition is nearly immaculate with no defects to report. The hole at the top was to attach to a lanyard or neck chain or necklace. This item is quite rare and collectible. Dimension: 7/8" h

Impressive Early American Pattern Glass water goblet with frosted foot and stem concluding in 3 lion's heads. The base of the goblet bowl is formed with six panels and the sides are clear, flaring slightly as the sides rise to the rim. Condition of the glasses is excellent with no chips or cracks.

A rare and lovely English porcelain compote with a canary yellow ground on the bowl and pedestal, the center of the bowl hand painted with a bouquet of flowers. An exceptional and elegant tea set consisting of a teapot, sugar, and creamer, hand painted with grey ground, and colorful floral sprays. Generous scrolling and foliate gilding complete the treatment. The condition of this ensemble is well above average for its age which we assign to the 2d quarter of the 19th century - c. 1830-40, suffering occasional soling. Flint glass open sugar on round foot, glass sliced octagonally. Glass is tinted grey/purple. Condition better than average for age, but still age appropriate wear. This glorious flow mulberry coffee pot is a treat on several counts, not the least of which is the fine ironstone construction and design of the pot with the Peruvian pattern by J Wedge Wood - not be confused with Josiah. The body flairs outward, cutting an impressive figure. Although there is regular crazing throughout, the condition of the pot is excellent. The underside is backstamped as noted, and also has a British Registry mark for the year 1875...

A wonderful hexagonal shaped ironstone flow mulberry covered dish with handles, often times called a vegetable dish, in the Jeddo pattern by William Adams and Sons, c. 1850. The dish and lid are structurally sound but there are a few condition defects to note. On the underside of the lid, there are 2 very shallow chips. On the underside of the foot, there are also 2 chips - 1 very small and the other about 1/4". We show pictures of all defects...

French Rococo and Louis XV features inform the design of these candelabra which sit on a a footed sinuous base with ornate embellishments from which rise intertwining stems whose sinusoidal arms support separately 4 sockets and bobeches. The finish is gold patination of which there is modest loss. The base is constructed of 3 pieces. Other than the previously noted finish losses, the candelabra are in very good condition. Some of the bobeches rotate freely. Dimension: 15" h

An exceptionally fine frosted goblet on an unusual conical base supporting a fluted bowl, all decorated with frosted devices including a gorgeous anthemion leaf pattern banded by egg and dart. The base has finely etched fern. This flint glass goblet is mid to late 19th C.

A fine Georgian mahogany rectangular tea caddy with bail handle and diamond shaped lock escutcheon. The interior is fitted with 2 compartments for holding tea, and a center receptacle for the cut glass mixing bowl which we deem to be of the period. Gold accents which we do not believe are inlays decorate the edges of the ivory knop lids. Condition is very good meaning that the wood has occasional blemishes, and the interior lining appears to be later than original, though still old...

A high quality milk glass goblet paneled with 9 facets and decorated with 3D grape and leaf design, most likely Westmoreland No. 1881. Stem is also faceted, standing on round foot. The "milk" alternates between translucence and opacity. This goblet is early 20th C. and in excellent condition.

This 14K gold ladies' pocket watch features highly decorated case with a monogram of B whose enamel face displays Arabic numerals and a second hand. It has been a long while since we have offered a Massier duck for sale, due in no small part to their rarity. This duck was expertly modeled in the studio of Jerome Massier around the turn of the 20th century using the vivid and, in this case slightly iridescent glazes for which he and his cousins were justly famed. Majolica wares were all about representing nature, and this gurgle fish pitcher is no exception. These fish pitchers came in a number of variations, most of which dealt with color schemes and minor design differences. This pitcher, we believe, represents the cream of the crop in a number of respects, the first of which is the gorgeou color, the primary one being the rich nearly forest green glaze which scales to mint green. These fine porcelain ewers are made in a neoclassical style with a slightly flaring base supporting a bulbous body whose neck narrows before ending in an elongated spout. Tall dramatic handles are attached to the vase. Rich cobalt blue panels alternate with white ground spaces each having simple floral embellishments surrounded by gilded swirls and scrolls. A fine matched pair of ceramic recumbent lions of molded construction having maize yellow ware enamel. The careful observer will note that the lions are not a mirror match, but they complement each other and were most likely produced this way. While the condition of the lions is less than pristine, having minor enamel losses and one minor chip as shown in the photos, we believe that serious collectors will appreciate the earliness and uniqueness of these ceramic lions. A goblet, presumed to be made by Riverside Glass Works as early as 1906 as pattern number 593. It has a caramel color, not a common find.

Please be aware that this pattern is known by several names such as Old English Colonial, Blucher, and Colonial, in part due to the change of ownership of the molds, during the first quarter or so of the 20th century, during which three companies owned them. As such we are unable to warrant the maker.

This beautiful turquoise or robin's egg blue goblet is elegant and timeless. Its tall urn shaped bowl sits atop a short stem with globular knop. There are no seams which suggests that it is hand blown. While it is unmarked it is believed to be made by the highly regarded German-French glass maker Vallerysthal & Portieux. My glass expert believes that it dates to c. 1930, although I have reason to believe that it may be earlier.

A most gorgeous porcelain bowl hand painted with green and pink fancy decorations around the rim of the bowl with a central vignette of two birds fluttering in a magnolia tree. The rim is edged with a mustard enamel. The condition is very good with some enamel loss in the bowl though not easily recognizable.
