Small footed cup with modelled handle and decoration of flower sprigs. For the iced sorbet between servings, 1770's. Unmarked, but probably by the Rue Thiroux/Porcelaine à la Reine factory. Height: 2 ½”/6,5 cm. Condition: fine.

A gilt and enamelled cup and saucer, inscribed “Don d’Amitié” (Gift of Friendship), French, c 1810-20. Height of cup including handle: 4 ¼”/10,8 cm, diam. of saucer: 4 ¼”/13,8 cm. Condition: some rubbing to gilding, esp. inside the cup.

A French lavishly decorated urn-shaped vase with handles, c 1850 in Rococo Revival style. The foot and bowl in the classical manner have been made separately and are joined by brass and iron parts (extra photos transmitted on demand). The abundant decoration on front and back is matched by the brilliant blue of the undecorated sides. The style and standard of the design and decoration of this unmarked vase is typical of the production of Jacob Petit (1796-1865). Height: 27 cm...

French or possibly Belgian footed cup and saucer. Decoration of gilding in stripes, and a rose pattern where the gilding has been tooled. The raised handle with a lion’s mask, c 1810-20. Height including handle: 4”/10,5 cm, diam. of saucer: 5 ¼”/13 cm. Condition: some rubbing to gilding, esp. on rim and handle of cup.

A French footed cabinet cup and saucer with painted decoration, the cup with a fox, the saucer with a rocky landscape. Marks for Flamen-Fleury, Paris, 1820-35. Height 4”/10 cm, diam. of saucer 5 ¼”/13,5 cm. Condition: Fine, except for some rubbing to gilding, esp. inside the cup.

Lovely Rococo bowls of lobed shape. A Sèvres model and Sèvres style decoration of rose heads and other flowers, and gilt sprigs. Painted and scratched mark Nid(erviller) in greyish black to both bowls, indicating a production date between 1793 and 1800. Diameter 8”/20 cm. Condition: some rubbing to the gilt decoration, a hairline to one bowl and a Y-shaped crack visible from the back (as seen on photo).

A pair of plates by Samson of Paris. Decoration in Famille rose colours of sprigs of flowers within a gilt Rococo border, imitating mid-18th Chinese export porcelain of the Qianlong period. Unmarked. Diameter "9½/ 23,8 cm. Condition: fine.

Samson of Paris, 19th century: a large godrooned dish, hand painted in the style of Watteau with a courting couple in a pastoral landscape surrounded by flowers, Deutsche Blumen. Flat back with the gilt wheel mark for Höchst /Hoechst 1765-74. Diameter "10¼/ 26,3 cm. Condition: a chip to the rim (cf. pics).

Superbly enamelled coffee can with a water landscape and fisherman next to a ruined castle. C 1800, probably Belgian (Vieux Bruxelles). Height: 2 ½”/6,5 cm. Saucer, contemporary but not belonging, provided without extra cost (see last photo). Condition: handle professionally mended.

A sturdy little earthenware salt, French, c 1760-80. Octagonal and decorated with a diaper pattern and cornflowers in a rustic variation of the Louis XVI style. Width "3/ 7.5 cm, height "1 ½ / 3.5 cm. Condition: a small area rough and unglazed, a mishap caused during fabrication (cf. pic 2).

A pair of oval dishes with godrooned borders, soft paste / pâte tendre, creamy white with decoration of flowers in underglaze blue. Made c 1780 in Tournai, then France and now Belgium. Ronda was the most popular Tournai pattern, produced all through the 19th century till 1891 when the manufactory closed down. Width "10 ½ / 26.5 cm. Condition: firing crack and two little nicks to underside of rim of one dish (cf. pics).

Punch bowl, a mid 19th century copy of the Chinese bowls made for the European market a hundred years earlier. The exterior dark blue and gilt with birds and vases in Famille Rose enamels in reserves, the interior with scattered flowers. Unmarked but most certainly made by Samson of Paris c 1880. Many of Samson’s Chinese Export models derive from a large collection of Chinese porcelain held by French industrialist Ernest Grandidier now to be seen in the Musée Guimet...

Eggshell thin cup and saucer of lobed and fluted shape, ivory matt glaze to the exterior, twig handle and raised gilt leaf decoration. French, unsigned, around 1890, the design with a touch of Japonisme. Height of cup "2/ 5.3 cm, diameter of saucer "4 / 10.2 cm. Condition: fine.

Four 19th century faience plates, probably from the Les Islettes factory near Reims in Northern France. Three with lobed and one with straight border. All decorated with sprigs of flowers in the "gaudy" style, one with a flower basket. Diameter "8 ¾ - 9 / 22 - 23 cm Condition: rim frits and wear to one plate, the flower basket plate with a charming attempt made in the factory to conceal a glaze mist at the border (cf pics).

Three 19th century faience plates, Northern France (Saint Clement?), all with vivacious floral decoration in the "gaudy" style, all with combed red border. Diameter "9/ 23 cm. Condition: wear to the decoration of two plates, all with rim frits.

Three faience plates, probably from the Les Islettes factory near Reims in Northern France, one with a rooster / coquerel and two with a flower basket motif. All with combed red border and 19th century. Diameter "9/ 23 cm. Condition: some rim frits, the coquerel plate with some filled-in patches to the red parts (cf. pics).

An 18th century faience desk set or inkwell for a lady, decoration of flower sprigs, mainly Forget me nots. French, possibly Rouen around 1780, Width "6 ¼ / 15.8 cm and height " / 5.7 cm. The base with four little feet and mark W in black, maybe for William Sturgeon who owned one of the Rouen factories from 1776. Condition: later restorations having been removed, now left with cracks and hairlines (cf. pics) but still charming.

Three early 19th century (c 1810) coffee cans decorated en grisaille with accents in red: the first with a mansion and a gentleman in red clothing passing by carrying a fishing rod, the second a cottage and a romantic mediaeval turret, an old man in red passing by leaning onto his stick, and the third with a small country church, a farmer in red clothing passing by carrying his tools. All three cans Belgian (Vieux Bruxelles) or possibly French (Paris porcelain). Height: 2 ½”/6,5 cm...
