A Chinese Very Rare/Fine Ceramic Seated Buddha/Mandala and Lotus Stand-16th C.:
China, Wanli Mark and of period, dated 1585 (Wanli 12 year)
The Buddha figure is in 3 parts, Buddha, Mandala and Plinth, with seated Buddha raising his right hand in a form of vitarka mudra while his left hand rests on the bented knee as he sits dhyanasana on a separately high double lotus octagonal plinth, the Buddha figure painted with brown, Mandala glazed with brown and green with 2 chracters on the back, and its plinth glazed with blue and honey brown, and also seated Buddha figure glazed with honey brown and blue,
It’s a very rare figure with an excellent codition with just minor glaze flakes.
It measures 41.5cm h. x 19.5cm w. x 15.5cm d. (16” x 7 ¾” x 6 1/8”), and its weight is 4.3kgs..
