A nice lacquered box with a painted mythical beast on the lid and a bird on the front panel. Under the outside bottom panel there is an inscription. Age: Early 20th century. Size: L. 30.6cm. W. 10.5cm H. 7.4cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal ageing.

Early 20th century large "Yun" lacquered betel box with incised design of royal scenes and dancing girls. The box is divided into three pieces. The bottom part for betel leaves and the top part for lime, areca nuts, clove and other ingredients. Size:H. 23 cm Diameter: 23 cm. Condition: No repairs, an old chip on upper rim and some age cracks on the two bottoms from age..

The stems of these flowering plants emanate from the abstract mountains at the 4 corners of the central frame. The floral center is framed in a large blue & white keyfret pattern that features 4 large pairs of abstract colorful flowers within the frame. An extremely rare matching set of a drum table and five matching stools made of Jichi wood or "Chicken Wing Wood" with a very large one piece burl wood top on the table and stools with a bamboo design. Bamboo carved furniture from very expensive wood is very rare as bamboo is a very inexpensive wood and to carve that bamboo design in the expensive wood is a sign of reverse snobbery reserved for the very rich at that time...

A very large Imari charger with a painted dragon in the center chasing the elusive flaming pearl. The panels have various paintings of dancers and country scenes. It is unusual to see dragons in Japanese Imari plates. The back has been wired for hanging. Size: Diameter. 45.3cm. Condition: Perfect.
