A rare Ming wooden statue of the Daoist God of War, seated with one foot on a turtle, for immortality,and one on a snake, for supernatural power. The back has a little cut out area for relics and a handle for holding it for display. Size: H.32cm. W. 15cm. Condition: Most of the paint still remains, some flaking. There is a little piece missing from the right side of the ornament on his shoulder

A silver overlaid Buddha from Burma. These Buddhas were buried under the Stupas as an offering to the shrine. Size: H. 10cm. W. 6.5cm. Condition: Some flaking of the silver overlay. Original head has been re-attached back on.

This is one of the earliest and rarest original types of vases made in Vietnam. It has a rich chocolate brown glaze with beautiful drippings going down to the base. This style of jar has been copied in later times in China and Southeast Asia. Size: H. 64.8cm W. 40cm. Condition: Perfect. No repairs.

A standing bronze Burmese Buddha on a pedestal in the "Varada mudra" position. Size: H. 15.2cm. Base width. 6.3cm. Condition: No repairs. Some separation on the pedestal spokes.

A very rare early Ava Period Buddha with heavy silver alloy casting and remains of gold gilding setting with the right hand in the "bhumisparsa mudra" earth touching position. Very heavy for it's size. Comes with TL certificate. Size: H. 28cm. W.Base. 17cm. Condition: No repairs.

A Ming statue of Quanyin glazed in cream, green and ochre glazes (san-ts'ai). The Guanyin is seated on a rock formation with lotus flowers above a rectangular pedestal. Formerly she was flanked by two disciples - there is one remaining but missing and the other is missing its head and hands...

A large natural wood lacquered brush pot with a natural burl forming in the center. The base of the pot is fairly thick. Age: late Ming. Size:H.22.5cm. L.26.5cm. W.at the base. 15.5cm. Condition. Some minor old repairs. Three old clips ,two on the rim and one on the base (see photos),possibly added during construction.

A very rare round, domed ceramic chop ink container with paintings of "a hundred boys." The background is off-white with the paintings of the rotund little boys at play in cobalt blue. The surface is heavily crazed. Kangxi seal mark.

Period: Ching Period 1662 - 1722 AD

Size: Height = 5.8 cm (2-1/4 inches, Diameter = 13.8 cm (5-7/16 inches)

Condition: The bottom has chips along the rim, possibly from trying to pry it open at one time. Can be restored...

A fairly large gold repousse Buddha wearing a cape and standing on lotus pedestal. Repousse is a metalworking technique in which a malleable metal is ornamented or shaped by hammering from the reverse side to create a design in low relief. Size: H 11cm. W. 6cm. Condition: No repairs. Some openings which are natural for old repousse items. Nice patina.

A very rare and characteristically glazed foo lioness with her left paw on the head of her baby. These usually come in pairs. One with the baby foo lion under the paw and one with a ball under the paw. This one has a lot of feeling with the baby foo lion looking annoyed with the paw pushing down on its head. There is always some humor with some of these statues. Size: H. 40cm. W. 35cm. Condition: Some pieces missing from age and weather.

A very rare portrait of the highest ranking official in the Emperor's court. This is based on the rank badge of the crane and the red hat. The painting is very intricate with a lot of gold work. The sleeves are painted with the heads of the Imperial Dragon and in the center there is a painting of the elusive flying pearl. The tips of the armrests and carved with the Linzhi mushroom...

A very rare Chinese veneer huanghuali cabinet with the original marble inserts. The back of the cabinet still has the original fiber coating that was used during the Ming and early Ching Dynasties. This cabinet was most likely made during the transitional period from Ming to Ching. Age: Early 18th Century Size: H.189cm W. 126cm D. 63cm Condition: All original. The drawers are probably a replacement. Normal wear.

A translucent pair of ceramic cups from the Vung Tau shipwreck. Size: Diameter. 6.2cm. H. 4cm. Condition. Some very minor repairs on the rims of both cups.See photo.

A very rare large white Chinese vase. Very difficult to find an original white vase like this. The production of white glazed wares was not very large, yet their quality was generally rather high.This one has a symbol of a human figure painted inside most likely done by the those who owned the vase. Size: H. 84cm. W. 45cm. Condition: Perfect.

A rare Ironwood (Tieli) clapper with three beautiful pieces. The two inner clappers are tied together for sound. The sound of the wooden clappers sets the rhythm of the music as well as some of the actions of the performers. Age: 19th century. Size:L.27cm. Width at the widest point is 2.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

A very rare pair of ironwood chairs also know as Tieli mu. Ironwood has been used with huanghuali items since the Ming Dynasty. In all the years that I have been collecting Chinese furniture, this is the only pair of ironwood chairs I have come across. Ironwood is usually been confused with jichimu. I find it just as desirable. Size: H. 112cm. W. 60cm. Depth. 45cm Age: Mid Qing.Condition: No repairs.

Three rare Chinese green glass beads made into a pendant. Size: See last photo. Condition: No repairs. Two small bubbles in two of the beads which is normal in this type of bead.
