This porcelain cup and saucer trio was produced in England in the early 19th century. It is comprised of a tea cup, a coffee cup and a saucer. The set is unmarked. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and is 1 1/4 inches deep. The tea cup measures 2 inches high, without the handle and has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. The coffee cup is 2 11/16 inches high, without the handle and has a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. Note the unique handle style. The set is exquisitely hand painted. They are vivid, having almost a two dimensional appearance. Anyone who knows the quality of a rose done by John Rose will recognize this superb artistry. This is a museum quality set. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It was produced especially for the prestigious retailer, Gilman and Collamore of New York. The saucer has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. The cup is 1 7/8 inches high with a diameter of 1 7/8 inches. The fine, white bone china is covered entirely be gold. There are panels of intricate, embossed patterns alternating with panels of raised turquoise enamel beads or jewels. The beads graduate in size and are separated by tiny raised gold beads. The gold shimmers in light. This is an exceptional example of Coalport’s workmanship and will be a star in any collection. Condition: 3 tiny beads missing on saucer near well. It is in otherwise excellent condition.

These 12 porcelain cream soup cups and saucers were produced in England by the Royal Cauldon Factory around 1900. The saucers measure 5 ¾ inches in diameter and the cups are 6 inches across the handles and 2 inches high. The cups feature graceful scalloped pedestal bases and split branch handles. All pieces are decorated with elaborate gilding that nearly covers the entire surface. There are knots of colorful hand painted flowers accenting the gold decorations. A lovely rose is at the bottom of each cup and well of each saucer. They were produced with such amazing delicacy and style; they are irresistible. Condition: One small, shallow chip just nicking the gold on the edge of a saucer, keeps this set of 12 from being excellent.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1940. It has date markings indicating this year. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches.The cup is 2 1/4 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The cup features a pedestal base and unique handle. The cup and saucer are signed by the artist E. Townsend. Luscious looking fruits are brilliantly hand painted on both pieces. The well of the saucer, interior of the cup and handle are gilded. It is an fine example of Worcester’s artistry. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Derby 1820. It has a hand painted mark in purple. The saucer is 5 1/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 1 5/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 7/8 inches. The set is made of fine bone china. There is a group of colorful chickens on the saucer. The cup is painted with water fowl, including a swan. Each scene has landscape and greenery. Butterflies and insects are on the wing. Look inside the cup and there one is. The rims are trimmed with dentil gilding. The split branch handle, often used by Meissen, has gilded accents. The set is an artistic accomplishment by Derby. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Copelands China in 1851. It is made of fine bone china. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and the cup is 2 ½ inches high. The set is hand painted in French Sevres style. There are bowers of light turquoise leaves hanging from the rim of the cup. Bunches of colorful flowers fill the space beneath. They are painted in exquisite detail and vivid colors. The use of space and depth is uncommon. Even the shape of the handle is borrowed from Sevres. There is delicate gold trim on the rims and the handle is accented with gold. Study the artistic details to understand the wonder of this cup and saucer. Condition: Excellent

These 4 porcelain soup cups and saucers were produced in England by Doulton Burslem in the 1890s. The saucers measure 5 1/8 inches and the cups are 2 inches high. The cups are quatrefoil, blown out and puffy in shape. The ground color is known as “blush”, shading from lighter to darker beige. They are decorated with transfer designs that are hand painted and have enameled accents. Brushed on gilding accents the inside rims of the cups and there is a row of tiny gold beads trimming the rims. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Doulton around 1900. It was a special order for the department store, J.E. Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. It is made of fine, white bone china. The name of the garden is “Hampton Court”. The scenes are hand painted with vibrant colors. It is signed by the artist, J. Price. A band of embossed gilding frames both pieces. Enjoy drinking your demitasse coffee with happy thoughts of summer. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1878. The date letters in the mark indicate this year. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The saucer is shaped and molded like a lily pad and the cup is the flower. The porcelain is smooth and creamy imitating ivory. The decoration is Japanese inspired. There are hand gilded butterflies, a heron bird, branches and foliage. Three colors of gold are used and it is all embossed so that you can feel the texture. This splendid cup and saucer has unique detail and design you would expect from such a prestigious manufacturer as Royal Worcester. Condition: The handle has a thin line of gilding that has slight wear. There are different colored marks on each piece showing a 2 year difference in production. This is not uncommon for earlier Worcester cups and saucer.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons between 1873 and 1885. This Asian inspired design was a creation of Christopher Dresser. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/8 inches. The cup is 2 3/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/3 inches. It is made of fine, white bone china. The factory transfer design is hand colored with bright enamels. Cranes are seen flying, wading, walking and swooping in the bamboo and reeds. Inside the bottom of the cup is a crane in flight. Suggestion of turquoise waters encircle the well of the saucer and bottom of the cup. The split handle and rims are trimmed with rust red enamel. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. The cup is 2 1/4 inches high with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The fine, white porcelain is slightly molded with ribs and the handle is an ornate split branch shape. It is decorated with elegant raised and beaded gilding in Art Nouveau style. Bands of embossed gold trim the rims. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Bodley between 1870 and 1882. The saucer measures 5 1/4 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup has a puffy, blown-out shape with molded panels. The saucer is heart shaped and also has molded scrolls in the porcelain. The main color is greenish turquoise. Brightly colored, hand painted flowers fill the panels around the cup and surround the interior of the saucer. The borders and scroll work is trimmed with gold. The rims and handle are accented with gold. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Brown, Westhead & Moore in the 1890s. It is a transitional set, just before the company became Cauldon. It was made especially for Gilman and Collamore of New York. The porcelain is extra fine and has molded swirls in the body. The decoration of tiny corn flower garlands is hand painted. Garlands of gilded leaves entwine with the corn flowers creating a delicate pattern. Tiny sprigs dot the outside of the cup. The scalloped borders, the gilded trim and fine porcelain make this a delightful cup and saucer. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain tea cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1898. The date cipher indicates this year. The plate is 6 3/4 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5 3/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 1/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 3/8 inches. The set is made of fine, white bone china that is highly translucent. The ground color is blush, shading from light peach to beige. The hand enameled decoration of chrysanthemums and foliage is done in high relief and enamel coloring. The chrysanthemum blooms are nearly encrusted. It is amazing to run your fingers across them, feeling the petals. The edges of each piece are raised scrolls painted light olive green. These scrolls are highlighted with gold. This pattern was a very successful combination of texture, colors and design. It would be a prized possession for any collector. Condition: There is slight crazing on the cup only seen with magnification.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Davenport between 1850 and 1870. The mark is impressed on the bottom of the saucer. The saucer is 4 7/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 1 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 inches. It is made of fine bone china. The decoration is inspired by the Asian Imari pattern. The design is hand painted with rust red, cobalt blue and abundant shiny gilding. The cup features three little ball feet. The cup is decorated inside and out. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. This is a unique set that would be an interesting addition to any collection. Condition: Excellent antique condition. There is normal wear to the bottom of the ball feet, to be expected.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Doulton Burslem in 1893. It was presented at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and is marked as such. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The porcelain is fine white bone china. It has molded decoration in the porcelain and the edges are slightly scalloped. The ground color is done in gold and ivory tones. There are colorful bouquets of flowers hand painted on both pieces. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain 3 piece coffee cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in England in the mid 19th century.  It is unmarked with only hand painted pattern numbers on the underside of each piece.  The plate has a diameter of 7 inches, the saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 3/4 inches high.  The cup has a comfortable ring handle.  The set has a cobalt blue ground color.  There are gilded medallions containing hand painted pink roses.  Elaborate, hand painted decoration contrasts beautifully against the deep cobalt.  Bands of embossed gold encircle each piece.  The Victorian style and fine bone china is evidence of an excellent manufacturer such as Brownfields or Bodley.  This set will enhance the enjoyment of your favorite coffee. Condition:  Excellent  

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Brown, Westhead & Moore around 1875. It is not marked but we found the shape in “A Compendium of British Cups” by Berthoud. The saucer measures 5 ¼ inches and the cup is 2 ¾ inches high. The set has wonderful celeste blue enamel coloring. There are bands of tiny hand painted flowers accenting the rims. Gilded accents and gold trim on rims and handles add to the design. CONDITION: Excellent
