We Japanese have been loving celadon from China since 11 century. Especially about the Long-guan ware, we categorize 3 types. 1."Kinuta"celadon in Song dynasty, 2."Tenryuji" celadon in Yuan dynasty, 3."Shichikan"celadon in Ming dynasty. In Japan Muromachi period 15th century, tea master Juko Murata had been putting forward "wabi-cha" that has become the mainstream of tea ceremony afterwards. And then he had the idea that wabi-cha should have noble mood hidden inside though it seemed coarse at glimpse. He had changed the tea ceremony in Chinese style to Japanese-like style. He picked up a coarse celadon tea cup made in Song dynasty. He thought it was suitable for wabi-cha. The tea cup like this has been called "Juko-seiji" in honor of him afterwards.
