Offered is a vintage George Ponzini post-modern studio glass perfume bottle circa 2010. The bottle, which has a clear glass chamber, and matching stopper, have opaque, transparent, and mirrored glass elements that juxtapose free form and geometric shapes. It is approximately 5" tall, including the stopper x 4 "wide, signed on the base as shown, and in excellent condition, with; no chips, scuffs, or repairs noted. Born in 1952, George Ponzini, an internationally recognized glass artist, creates functional and sculptural pieces, including perfume bottles with an unusual three-dimensional collage style he calls Neo-Deco. His work weaves modern and post-modern sensibilities to highlight glass's color and light. For over thirty-eight years, George's structures of glass planes have defiantly departed from traditional glass art. Ponzini's work is in galleries, notable exhibits, and collections in the US, Europe, and Japan, including The Glasmuseum in Ebeltoft, Denmark, The Renwick Gallery, Vassar College, Nicolaysen Art Museum, and The International Exhibition of Glass Craft in Kanazawa, Japan.
