Offered is an early Steven Main Studio Glass round perfume bottle that reflects his interest in the patterns found in nature. This hand-blown perfume bottle features a multi-colored chamber encased in colorless glass that radiates within the bottle and a simple round stopper. The bottle is 4½ " tall, including the stopper, 3 " wide. It is in excellent condition with a few minor scratches, consistent with its age and light use, and no chips, scuffs, or repairs noted. It is signed and dated on the bottom, as shown. Steve Main (born in 1951) first studied glassblowing with Henry Halem at Kent State University in the 1970s. That education and over thirty years of experimentation and innovation in the studio have led to award-winning work. Fascinated by the immediacy and fluidity inherent in the glassblowing process, Main works in a series format that allows his ideas to slowly evolve as he explores how glass of different colors interacts. Main's work often references nature, although he enjoys that people interpret his work according to their own experiences. What is important to him is to capture the viewer's imagination.
