This is a rare Wan type chawan, around 400 years old in shape close to a tenmoku tea bowl. It is thrown on a wheel from coarse, unrefined iron bearing clay.

A magnificent and rare Amida Nyorai bronze Buddha, made in the early Edo Period, which means in the early 17th. century. This statue was made in a way called lost-wax metal casting, also known as Rougata Chuuzou, which was popular only in the 6th. century and in the Edo time.

The statue is in good antique condition with no repairs or cracks.

Up for sale is our oldest Japanese Tokkuri (Sake bottle). It dates from the Momoyama Period with an age of 400 years and has a very tasteful glaze with vivid colours. Close to the bottom there is a kiln mark (refer to picture no. 6)

The Tokkuri can be used with a little flower as a wabi arrangement. It is in good condition with a crack on the top of the tokkuri, which enforces the wabi look.

A Tokkuri with this age is absolutely rare.

This is a very nice and very old Buddha statue from Lopburi depicted with royal attire such as crown, ear rings, belt , necklace and more. The Buddha is sitting in a position of calling the earth to witness.

We offer today a wonderful Chinese Longquan Celadon Porcelain Guanyin (Kwan Yin) dating from the Ming Dynasty. This Guan Yin has been acquired from the world famous collector of Chinese ceramics, Dr. Nearing and his Dragon's Lair Collection some years ago.

The Buddha is sitting in the double lotus position. The right hand is in the Karana mudra position, which expels negative energy or wards off evil.

It is about 10 1/4 inches tall.
